⚠️ PSA for Parents Buying Gaming PCs for Their Teens 🎮
If you’re shopping for a gaming PC, here are a few quick things to watch out for:
🧠 Processor Compatibility
Systems running older than Intel 8th Gen or some AMD Ryzen 2000-series don’t officially support Windows 11.
Some sellers use workarounds to force Windows 11 onto these machines — this may stop working if Microsoft blocks unsupported installs in future updates.
🎮 Graphics Card Support
Avoid PCs using NVIDIA 1000-series or older and AMD RX 400-series or older graphics cards. These no longer receive driver updates, which can lead to:
Poor game performance
Crashes or instability
Security risks
💡 Tip:
If a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is. Always check the CPU and GPU generation to ensure it’s fully Windows 11-supported and receives current driver updates.
