Lightning Wave

Lightning Wave Weird sound factory Lightning Wave is a Dunedin-based effects pedal company formed as a collaboration between Lee Nicolson and Jonny Arthur.

It started from a workshop in a local creative space called The Attic. After meeting through an online forum in 2013, conceptual ideas started taking shape and in 2016 the first unique effects went into production. For more information please visit www.lwave.nz

This fantastic freak-show of nine of the world’s strangest effects boxes annihilates preconceptions about how pedals look and sound.

Just finished a version of the display that can capture either guitar or CV via an on-board toggle switch, including alternate bitmap screens on boot 😄 Turned out fairly 90's

Mod update: I've got some cool news for anyone with a silver-cap fader (MK2 blue board)!
I found by borrowing a spare pin from the display microcontroller and cutting some traces, it's possible to add a firmware-based toggle to achieve the same thing that the MK3 does through hardware - I.e. invert the waveform and depth control via the touch sensor.
This is particularly handy for the Astro as it gives phase depth control from the top down or bottom up.
I think I should also figure out if there's a way to describe the operation like a road map.. the new option forks from where you would normally change mode or draw a sequence. Now a 5-way intersection including releasing the tap with no other action - not mentioned in the manual but this shortcuts back to loop mode..

If you're interested in diving into guitar pedals that feature Control Voltage options here's an excellent overview from Stompbox Exhibit + Delicious Audio

CV (an acronym for "Control Voltage") is a system that allows the remote of parameters of synths and pedals remotely - exactly like Midi, CV surpasses that format in smoothness and flexibility.
