Level 4 COVID information

We're back in Level 4 and as we have in the past we are temporarily changing the way we work.

Visits to your home or premises will be subject to strict controls as advised by the Ministry of Health. Please expect to answer a number of questions relating to your COVID19 status or recent travel before a visit to repair your service is arranged. New connections and non-essential repairs to individual connections are now postponed and affected customers will be contacted to explain the situation.

Our offices in Dunedin and Balclutha are closed for the duration of the Level 4 lockdown. Our phones will be manned during business hours Monday-Friday as usual but please understand that answer times may increase temporarily while the team settles into the new routine.

We're back in Level 2 and as we have in the past we are temporarily changing the way we work.
The safety of you, your household and our team members are paramount. We will be asking you before dispatching a field technician whether you or anyone in the house have been in contact with anyone returned from Auckland or from overseas in the last two weeks. If these questions are not answered we will not send a technician to your address.
If the answer is yes then a Unifone manager will be in touch to discuss your situation before we dispatch a technician.
Our offices in Dunedin and Balclutha will be operating with a strict 2 metre distancing policy. We suggest you contact us by phone or email rather than coming in and pay your invoice online rather than use our EFTPOS machines in the offices.

Now that we are back at Level 2 until Friday 14 August 2020 we'd like to advise our customers and anyone wanting to contact us of the following:

Our offices at 130 Kaikorai Valley Road, Dunedin and 26A Clyde Street Balclutha have QR codes in prominent areas. We need all visitors to scan the QR code before entering these offices. Once inside the building, please wait in the foyer area for someone to meet you. If you don't have the means to scan the QR code, or don't wish to, you can call or email us to discuss your needs.

If we are talking with you about arranging work at your home and business we will also ask you about your COVID19 status. Please help our team to provide or maintain your service by answering these questions.

If our field staff visit our home we ask that you respect our social distancing requirements. All our team are ready and able to provide service in a safe manner and we need you to do your part as well.

1. There is now an uncapped period of the day. This is between Midnight and 9am. Any data you use in this period will not count towards your data cap.
2. The cost of overage has gone down to $1.50 per GB

All existing customers can check their inbox for an email giving full details of the changes. We'll make the change at our end without you having to contact us.

COVID-19 update on Unifone services.

Following the recommendation from the Ministry of Health to work from home where possible we have made the decision to close our Dunedin and Balclutha offices to the public.

Our support staff will begin to work from home from 23 March.
Customers who pay their invoices by EFTPOS or cash will need to start making electronic payments using the details printed on every invoice.

Unifone and COVID-19
The safety of our customers and staff are our paramount concern in preparing our response.

Unifone’s management are closely monitoring official channels such as the Ministry of Health’s website to inform our decision-making processes during the COVID-19 crisis.

If you call in to our support line and our staff think a technician visit to your home may be required they will ask a series of questions to find out whether you are in isolation or ill. Our field technicians may also ask the same questions before attending. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation in answering these questions.

Effective immediately we are taking the following steps to minimise the chance of COVID-19 transmission.

1. Our Dunedin and Balclutha offices are open but please contact us by phone or email rather than calling in. You can communicate with us through our website www.unifone.net.nz
or on 0800894114

2. Our customer portal my.unifone.net.nz is available to check the balance of your account, data usage for 3G/4G customers and call records for phone customers.

3. Our staff have been asked to stay at home if they are ill.

4. We have adopted all Ministry of Health recommendations regarding social distancing and hygiene.

5. We are ready and able to from home rather than from our offices if we need to.

6. We are checking with our customers about their travel and health status before entering their property and will rebook the appointment until medical clearances have been given or self-isolation periods have elapsed.
