So, we're a whole 1 year old today!! As we kick off a week of celebrations with quizzes, games and far too much food , we are reflecting on our awesome first year as TRIBE! Our celebrations are not just because we've made it to 365 days - but more so what we have all achieved, DESPITE the of COVID. This was only made possible because of the Tribe we have in our customers and our people . We are exceptionally proud of our team and all the work and play they have put in through the year! .

So, we’re using Teams, and email and all sorts of ways of communicating and we’ve noticed a few things that quite a few people are challenged with, that we thought would be good to share.

Online Fatigue

In week 4 of lockdown we’re seeing fatigue around our teams and our customers. Working from home in most instances is technically easy, but at the end of the day we’re more exhausted than ever – why?

There are a number of articles out and about explaining the detail of why – the common thread is that we’re multi-tasking more, having more meetings than usual, more urgency, more focus, but less time to breathe and actually get work done.

What is 'business as usual' in an unusual week without Friday drinks? 41 People at 'drinks' in 41 locations in NZ with us all sharing hilarious stories of working from home with kids and animals joining our meetings. We've learned even more about each other and our families, but most of all, seen the much needed acts of kindness around New Zealand - even in our dealings with suppliers, customers and partners. Day 1 of the lockdown! It's been a busy time for us at Tribe, all working remotely yet keeping the lights on for many of our essential services clients, and practising what we preach = making the most of some awesome cloud technologies. We've had funny photo competitions, videos of kids tantrums, unexpected family additions to meetings - and some awesome chats by the virtual water cooler!

While alert level 4 is just hours away and many people are running around getting their last supplies - most of Tribe are already at home - not Netflix-ing - but working. Our virtual water-cooler (no really, it's there online) takes off today for social coffee catchups and Friday drinks. Our COVID-19 staff quiz on Microsoft Teams yesterday went pretty well! Our team is still upbeat, focused and ready to help if you need it.
