Part 1 of The Shape of Belonging is now available as the first episode of my new podcast, Tiny Tales with Big Truths.

This is the spoken word version only. Because of IP/copyright, the original music performed in the live show is not included in this recording, but the story itself is here, raw and intact.

This first part begins with the school choir, adoption, race, belonging, and the strange ache of not knowing where you fit before you even have language for it.

It feels tender to release this into the world in podcast form, especially after the live performance. Thank you to everyone who has held, witnessed, encouraged, or recognised themselves in this story.

The last few days have been heavy.

Regardless of where you sit politically,
many of us are feeling overwhelmed, tense, or emotionally flooded.

This video isn’t a stance or an argument.
It’s a grounding pause. A reminder that you don’t have to absorb everything happening in the world to remain compassionate or aware.

There’s a difference between wanting support
and being oriented to receive it.

Every soul carries provision, not luck, not promises, but access.

Here’s the truth I’ve learned.
Self-love isn’t a finish line. It’s a choice we make, often while we’re still messy, layered, and learning.

You were born whole.
Life added layers.
Healing begins when you stop abandoning yourself.

When you’re anchored in who you are, other people’s words stop running the show.
You may feel the moment… but you choose how far it travels inside you.

Sovereignty isn’t about hardening or tolerating disrespect.
It’s about keeping your nervous system, identity, and worth out of someone else’s hands.

Your mood isn’t public property.
Your identity isn’t a group project.
Your worth isn’t up for negotiation.

This is what it looks like to take the remote control back.
