Cut admin overheads, streamline your day-to-day systems, and reclaim valuable time. Gain real insight into staff performance by tracking each employee's revenue contribution against their cost to the business.

Need a website or some custom software? We've got you covered. πŸ’»
Most people know BartTech for board-level repairs and microsoldering β€” but we also build websites and write custom programs for local businesses and individuals.
Whether you need a clean, fast website to get your business online, a booking form, an online store, or a custom tool to automate the boring parts of your day β€” we can build it, quickly and affordably.
Some ideas of what we can do:
β€’ A professional website for your trade or small business (we've already built sites for local builders and gibstoppers)
β€’ Online booking, contact, or quote forms
β€’ Custom spreadsheets, calculators, or business tools
β€’ A full CRM / job management system β€” like the one we built and now run our own shop on (see images below): customer database, quotes, job tracking, automated emails, the lot
β€’ Inventory, job, or customer tracking systems
β€’ Automating repetitive tasks β€” invoices, emails, reports
β€’ Got a wild idea? Ask us. If you can describe it, we can probably build it.
Local, honest, and based right here on the Hibiscus Coast. No big-agency prices, no jargon β€” just tell us what you need.

πŸ”§ We just unlocked something most repair shops don't even know is possible.

Dead RAM? Don't bin it.

We're now repairing DDR4 and DDR5 RAM modules using advanced diagnostic hardware most shops don't have access to β€” recovering sticks that every other shop would throw in the bin.

The failure mode we're targeting is invisible to standard diagnostics. No beep codes, no memtest, no POST β€” just a stick that looks physically fine but refuses to work. We go deeper than anyone else.

πŸ’€ Stick not detected at all? We can check it.
πŸ› οΈ System won't POST with your RAM installed? Bring it in.
πŸ’Έ DDR5 isn't cheap β€” don't replace it until we've looked at it.

Auckland's only repair shop offering this level of RAM diagnosis and recovery. BartTech Computers & Microsoldering, Stanmore Bay.

You might have noticed β€” new laptops and computers have gotten seriously expensive lately πŸ’Έ
There's a reason for that. The global AI boom is driving up demand for RAM and SSD components worldwide, pushing prices up and stock into backorder. Replacing your device in 2026 is costing people more than ever.
So before you spend $1800–$3,000+ on a new machine... bring it to us first.
Dead laptop? Broken MacBook? Fried GPU? We specialise in the repairs most shops won't touch β€” motherboard level, microsoldering, liquid damage recovery.
Fix it. Don't replace it. πŸ”§

WINDOWS 11 USERS

Windows 11 users, you might want to hold off on that April update for a few days. ⚠️

The latest Patch Tuesday (KB5083769) is reportedly causing "death loops" and bizarre pixelated crashes. Some users are getting stuck in endless repair cycles they can’t escape.

Check the symptoms and what we know so far in the link below. πŸ‘‡

πŸ”§ 5 Free Things You Can Do Right Now to Make Your Device Last Longer
Most people don't think about their laptop or phone until something goes wrong β€” but a little attention now can save you a costly repair bill later. Here are five simple things you can do today, completely free.
1. Clean your vents and keyboard
Dust buildup is one of the leading causes of overheating, and overheating kills components over time. Use a can of compressed air (or even a soft brush) to clear out vents and keyboard gaps every few months.
2. Don't charge to 100% every time
Lithium batteries actually prefer to live between 20–80% charge. Keeping your device plugged in at 100% all day accelerates battery wear. Most modern devices have a "battery limit" setting β€” it's worth turning on.
3. Restart your device regularly
Many people leave their laptop in sleep mode for weeks. A full restart clears memory, installs pending updates, and lets the system reset properly. Aim for at least once a week.
4. Keep your storage below 90% full
When drives get too full, performance drops and write errors become more likely. Delete old downloads, empty your recycle bin, and offload photos to the cloud or an external drive.
5. Update your software
Outdated operating systems and drivers aren't just a security risk β€” they can cause crashes, hardware conflicts, and poor performance. Keeping things updated is one of the easiest forms of maintenance there is.
Small habits make a big difference. If your device is already showing signs of trouble, bring it in and we'll take a look β€” often it's something straightforward

Apple Inc. was fined about $27 million in France in 2020 after authorities ruled the company did not clearly inform consumers about software updates that affected the performance of some older iPhones. The penalty came from France’s consumer watchdog under rules aimed at addressing planned obsolescence, which treats deliberately shortening a product’s lifespan as a punishable practice.

France has since expanded its focus on product longevity. Advocacy from the nonprofit HOP helped drive reforms such as a mandatory repairability index that scores devices like smartphones and laptops on how easy they are to fix. The country also introduced a repair fund to help subsidize fixes, while the European Union has been exploring similar right-to-repair policies across its member states.
