Please watch out for a new email phishing scam supposedly from the NZTA.

The email subject line is 'It's time to renew your vehicle's licence (rego)' and is a very close match to the real thing.

Clicking the 'Renew Now' option will take you to a very convincing phishing website which will attempt to capture your driver licence and credit card details.

Pretty sloppy of Google Play to publish this app, the article says that their app approval process is automated.

But also, in our opinion it's 'buyer beware' these days. If you want to use tech, great, but also wise up, read up and protect yourself from scams like this.
