For many of us, some of our earliest memories of music are tied to our dads. The records they played, the bands they introduced us to, the stereo in the lounge, the concerts we went to, the songs that seemed to be on permanent rotation.
Some of those records become our records. Some of those songs become part of the soundtrack to our own lives. And, every now and then, we catch ourselves saying exactly the same things about music that they once said to us.

Bluesound has released a new and substantially upgraded wireless subwoofer — the PULSE SUB.

Designed to integrate neatly with the wider BluOS ecosystem, the new PULSE SUB uses a 350-watt amplifier driving two 6.5-inch woofers in a dual-opposed configuration. That arrangement is designed to cancel cabinet vibration while delivering deep, controlled bass from a relatively compact enclosure.

It is available in two colours and two grille options, and can connect wirelessly with Bluesound streamers, wireless speakers and soundbars. It will also work with compatible NAD amplifiers fitted with BluOS MDC modules, as well as BluOS-equipped PSB speakers.

Pricing is still to come, but this looks like a very useful addition for anyone building or expanding a BluOS system.

🆕 NEW FROM YAMAHA 🆕 TWO NEW MUSICCAST STREAMING PRODUCTS ARE COMING

Yamaha has announced two new additions to its MusicCast family: the WX-C70A streamer and WX-A70A streaming amplifier.

The WX-A70A brings 70 watts per channel, HDMI eARC, ESS DAC technology and the MusicCast ecosystem into a compact streaming amplifier.

The WX-C70A is the dedicated streamer version — designed either to bring an existing stereo into the streaming world or to add MusicCast to a higher-end system.
Both also feature Yamaha YPAO room and speaker optimisation.

New Zealand pricing and availability are still to be confirmed, but we’ll keep you posted.
