Sometimes the Smallest Change Can Cause the Biggest Problem.

This morning, I visited a client in Jacinto, Davao City who owns a high-end desktop powered by a premium AMD Ryzen processor, an NVIDIA graphics card, and a triple-fan GPU.

The issue started after the client installed a GPU support stand. Since the graphics card was quite heavy, he wanted to prevent it from sagging. Unfortunately, after installing the stand, the desktop suddenly powered on but showed no display.

The client spent time searching YouTube and trying different troubleshooting methods, but nothing worked. That's when he decided to call PC Guy Davao.

I carefully diagnosed the system, checked every possible cause, and performed a thorough troubleshooting process. After identifying the real issue, I was able to restore the desktop to full working condition.

Since everything was already running properly, the client also requested a fresh installation of Windows 11 to give the system a clean start and better performance.

In the end, the desktop was back to normal, running smoothly, and the client was very happy with the results.

Sometimes, what looks like a major hardware failure is actually caused by a small change. Proper diagnosis always comes first.

Today, I visited a client at Deca Homes, Catalunan Grande, Davao City, who was experiencing a desktop PC that powered on but had no display. The system was equipped with an Intel Arc graphics card and 16GB of RAM.

According to my client, the desktop was working perfectly the last time it was used on Friday. When it suddenly refused to display anything, he became worried that one of the expensive components might have failed.

After a thorough diagnosis and almost an hour of troubleshooting, I was able to identify the root cause and successfully restore the system to full working condition.

Seeing the smile and relief on my client's face after the PC came back to life is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Thankfully, there was no major hardware damage—only a problem that needed the right diagnosis and solution.

Today, I had the opportunity to help a wonderful mother of two daughters with her Dell desktop computer.

She contacted me because she was having a very unusual problem. Every time she tried to save files in Microsoft Office, errors would appear. Even more alarming, after shutting down and turning the computer back on, it seemed as if her user profile and files had disappeared. Everything was fine the day before, but the next day it looked like the computer had been completely wiped.

Before doing any work, I asked my client if there were any important files left on the computer. She told me there were none and that she had already accepted that whatever was left would be deleted if reformatting became necessary.

After a complete diagnosis, I found that the system had multiple issues affecting its stability. To ensure a reliable and long-term solution, I performed a clean installation (fresh reformat) and upgraded the computer from Windows 10 to Windows 11. A fresh installation removes corrupted system files and gives the computer a clean, stable foundation.

I also fixed the printer connection, installed Microsoft Office, updated the necessary drivers, and made sure everything was working perfectly. Since one of her daughters is only 7 years old and already attending school, having a dependable computer and printer at home is very important for assignments, projects, and printing school requirements.

Seeing my client happy and relieved after the repair is always the most rewarding part of my work. It's not just about repairing computers—it's about helping families get back to work, study, and daily life with confidence.

I received a home service call from a client in Buhangin, Davao City.

She owns an ASUS VivoBook and shared that it would suddenly shut down without any warning—as if someone had switched it off. Since she works as a Virtual Assistant, every unexpected shutdown interrupted her work and caused unnecessary stress.

When I arrived and inspected the laptop, I found that the processor was overheating. Once it reached a critical temperature, the system automatically powered off to protect itself from further damage.

While checking Windows 11, I also noticed something unusual. Even with no programs open, there were already many background processes running, which strongly suggested malware or unwanted software affecting the system's performance.

After thoroughly cleaning the laptop, replacing what needed attention, and performing a fresh Windows installation, everything was running smoothly again. The laptop became faster, cooler, and more stable.

The smile on my client's face after seeing her laptop working properly again reminded me why I love doing this job. It's not just about fixing computers—it's about helping people get back to work with confidence and peace of mind.

This morning, I traveled to Panabo City to help a client named Niño with his two desktop computers.

To be honest, it has been almost six years since I last accepted a home service job in Panabo. These days, I'm usually fully booked in Davao City, where many clients need my attention first.

At first, I was hesitant to accept the job because of the distance and my busy schedule. But Niño kept reaching out and sincerely asking for my help.

Then he shared something that caught me completely by surprise.

He told me that he was one of my loyal listeners back when I was a radio DJ at 93.9 iFM Davao.

For a moment, I paused.

Suddenly, memories came rushing back—the days inside the radio booth, talking to thousands of listeners, playing music, receiving greetings, and doing what I loved. It felt amazing to know that, after all these years, someone still remembered me from that chapter of my life.

That alone made me curious and reminded me of the journey that shaped who I am today.

On top of that, Niño was very kind and respectful throughout our conversation. He also offered a fair price for the service, making it hard to say no. So without any further hesitation, I accepted the job.

When I arrived, I checked both desktop computers. Thankfully, the issues weren't serious hardware problems. They simply needed Windows activation and Microsoft Office activation to get everything working properly again.

After finishing the job, I left knowing I had helped another happy client.

Moments like this remind me that my work isn't just about fixing computers. It's about meeting people, building relationships, and sometimes reconnecting with pieces of my own past.

From being a radio personality years ago to becoming The PC Guy Davao, I'm grateful that life continues to give me opportunities to serve people in different ways.

My client handed me an old but dependable HP 6th Gen laptop. Before I even opened it, she shared what happened.

Two Sundays ago, while preparing to leave for church, she placed her laptop on the table. In the rush of getting ready, one of their beloved dogs accidentally bumped into the table, causing the laptop to fall.

Since she didn't want to be late for church, she simply stood it back up and left. That evening, she was relieved because the laptop still worked. But the following day, it suddenly refused to turn on.

She also noticed that the bottom part of the laptop looked unusual—it seemed to be bulging. Because of her busy schedule, it took almost two weeks before she was able to contact me.

When I arrived today and opened the laptop, I immediately saw the problem.

The battery had swollen dramatically.

It wasn't just a little bloated—it had expanded to an alarming size. At that point, continuing to use or charge the laptop could have become a serious safety risk.

I carefully removed the defective battery, performed the necessary checks, and optimized the laptop's performance. Seeing my client's smile after the laptop came back to life reminded me why I love what I do.

Before I left, I gently reminded her:

"If your laptop suddenly changes shape, develops a bulge, or shows any unusual signs after being dropped, don't wait. Have it checked immediately. Some problems don't just damage your device—they can also become a safety hazard."

Every home service reminds me that I don't just repair computers.
