🌿 Reflection: Growth, Change, and Quiet Pride

There’s a unique kind of sadness that comes when you see something you built with passion get replaced.

When I developed the official website of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, I poured into it not just code and design, but thought — every layout, every hierarchy, every pixel was shaped with respect for what the institution represents: integrity, authority, and trust.

For the past three years, that design has stood as part of the Court’s digital history — serving the public, informing citizens, and becoming a quiet benchmark for how government web design can be clear, credible, and human-centered.

Now, a new version is being developed — one that looks familiar, but not quite the same. And while part of me feels disheartened, another part is quietly proud. Because even if someone changes the colors or the theme, the foundation they’re using was mine. The structure, the clarity, the flow — those came from the hours, drafts, and care I gave to make something worthy of the Court.

Design evolves. People move on. But the legacy of thoughtful work remains, even when others take the stage next.

To any designer or developer who’s ever felt replaced — remember this:
They can change the theme, but they can’t replace the intention and craftsmanship you put into your work. That’s something only you could have built.
