๐๐๐น๐ ๐ฎ๐ตโ๐ฏ๐ฌ, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ โ The Technological University of the PhilippinesโManila, through its TUP - GAD (Gender and Development), successfully conducted a two-day Training-Workshop on the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) as part of its continuing commitment to strengthen gender mainstreaming across the institution.
The workshop brought together members of the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS), project proponents, organizers, university officials, and personnel to enhance their capacity in integrating gender-responsive approaches into institutional programs, projects, and activities.
During Day 1, participants were introduced to the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) framework and its practical application in project assessment, design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The sessions emphasized the importance of ensuring that university initiatives align with national gender and development policies and standards while recognizing and addressing the diverse needs, experiences, and concerns of all genders.
On Day 2, the workshop focused on the Project Implementation, Management, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PIMME) Checklist, where participants presented and discussed the generic checklist scores of selected case projects. Through group presentations, feedback sessions, and collaborative analysis, participants validated their gender assessments, interpreted HGDG scores, and identified strategies to further improve the gender responsiveness of university programs and activities.
The two-day workshop reflected TUP Manilaโs continued dedication to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and gender-responsive academic and administrative environment. By equipping its personnel with the necessary knowledge, tools, and resources, the University reinforces its commitment to sustainable development initiatives that benefit the entire TUP community.
