MID-RANGE LAPTOP CLEANING, REPASTING, REPADDING

Sir S went over and dropped off his laptop in our Las Pinas location. He had it for 3 years, and he was just right on time (we recommend laptops and dedicated GPUs be cleaned, repasted, and repadded every 2 to 3 years).

Kudos to Lenovo on the quality of this laptop. It was very easy to teardown. They used thermal putty for their VRAMs and VRMs, and high quality thermal paste for the CPU and GPU.

Laptop Specs:
LENOVO LEGION PRO 5i (16IRX8)
Intel Core i7-13700HX
32GB DDR5 SODIMM RAM
RTX 4070 8GB Mobile GPU
1TB NVMe SSD

Issues:
❌ Thermal throttling CPU, not the worse, but a little more performance was held back by temperature.
❌ CPU hovering at 97°C when stress tested. Normal for Intel mobile CPUs back then, just need better cooling to get more out of the CPU's maximum potential.
❌ Power output of 106W under stress test.
❌ GPU idled at 55°C. Has a lot of room for improvements. Maxed out at 84°C when stress tested.
❌ Stock thermal pads and pastes have dried up and wore down after 3 years of use.

Fixes:
✔️ Cleaning to get rid of dust build up that blocks airflow.
✔️ Thermal paste replaced with PTM 7950 for the CPU and GPU chips.
✔️ Thermal pads replaced with TPT-128.

We allotted a (1) week buffer for the stress tests to show the capabilities of PTM 7950 and it never lets down as shown in the results.

CPU's max temperature stayed the same, but showed signs of improvements with stability as it pushed nearly 200MHz more clock speeds and significantly increased wattage from 106W to 125W at max load.

GPU's max temperature and idle temperature lowered drastically giving better stability for Sir S' everyday use.

HIGH-END LAPTOP HIGH TEMPERATURE/THERMAL THROTTLING

Is your laptop heating up? Look no further, our expert cleaning and thermal solutions got you covered.

Laptop Specs:
ASUS ROG ZEPHYRUS G14 (GA402)
Ryzen 9 7940HS
32GB DDR5 SODIMM RAM
RTX 4080 12GB Mobile GPU
1TB NVMe SSD

Issues:
❌ User reported CPU temperature of up to 105°C when playing games.
❌ CPU hovering at 95°C when stress tested.
❌ Power output of 30.5W under stress test.
❌ All the results mentioned above are clear indication of thermal throttling.
❌ GPU idled at 55°C. Not alarming, but has significant room for improvements.
❌ Stock thermal pads, thermal paste, and the liquid metal were either dried up or has burnt marks/discoloration.

Fixes:
✔️ Cleaning to get rid of dust build up that blocks airflow.
✔️ Thermal paste and liquid metal replaced with PTM 7950.
✔️ Thermal pads replaced with UTP-8.

These are long term thermal solutions, that you wouldn't have to worry for years down the line.

CPU's max temperature lowered significantly, and GPU's idle temperature reduced by 20%.

Liquid metal is one of the things that can harm your PC's motherboard. It is not recommended by experts, yet companies are using these to increase the chances of damage or inefficiency. In other terms, planned obsolescence.

Jumpstarting 2026 with one of our clients over a week ago. He had his PC built with a store over 3 years ago.

Issues:
❌ Infologger and keylogger got into his system due to a scam.
❌ Extremely slow boot up times (even if we factor memory training from DDR5).
❌ CPU and RAM stability tests came out with errors using OCCT.
❌ PC randomly goes hibernate when AFK for around 10mins.
❌ BIOS version was on version 3, latest for his motherboard is in version 36.

Fixes:
✔️ Complete reformat/wipe of storage drives.
✔️ BIOS update.

Inlusive:
• Windows 11 Pro + MS Office Installation and Activation

The BIOS update gave us positive results after the stability tests. Boot up became extremely faster, and the PC does not go on hibernation mode anymore.

Keeping your motherboard up to date is important! Especially when facing issues like these.
