Need higher DC voltage without a bulky transformer? This circuit gets it done using a voltage multiplier.
An AC signal feeds a chain of diodes and capacitors. On each half-cycle, the diodes steer current so the capacitors charge and stack on top of each other. Instead of just rectifying, the circuit “adds” voltages stage by stage.
In the first stage, the capacitor charges to the peak input (Vp). In the next cycle, that stored voltage is combined with the input to charge the next capacitor higher. This process repeats across all stages.
By the end, the output reaches about 4× the input peak (4Vp). That’s why it’s called a quadrupler.
The output isn’t perfectly smooth. You’ll notice ripple because the capacitors slightly discharge between cycles. Larger capacitors or lighter loads help reduce this.
This design is commonly used in high-voltage, low-current applications like CRTs, X-ray supplies, and voltage generators.

Open-source IoT node firmware for ESP32-S3 with post-quantum encryption.
https://www.cnx-software.com/2026/04/05/esp32-s3-gets-post-quantum-encryption-with-aethyr-edge-node-open-source-firmware/

Aethyr Research firmware boots in 2.1 seconds and supports full PQC (Post Quantum Cryptography) handshakes in 35ms. It relies on formally verified ML-KEM-768 (FIPS 203) post-quantum key exchange, BLAKE3 integrity, and XChaCha20-Poly1305 encryption.

While the firmware itself is open-source and could serve as a starting point for other PQC implementations, it's designed to connect to the Aethyr distributed agent mesh, whose "upstream node" software is currently "proprietary and closed off" until the official release.

Always verify the Modbus register map before trusting any data.

● Confirm the correct register addresses, function codes, and data types

●Check byte and word order to ensure values are interpreted correctly

●Apply the proper scaling from raw values to engineering units

●Validate readings using a known and stable field condition

Ensure proper RS-485 wiring, grounding, and termination

If the value is stable but incorrect, the issue is likely in the mapping or configuration.

If the value fluctuates or drops out, the issue is likely in the communication or wiring.
