وزیر اعلیٰ گلگت بلتستان امجد حسین سے سیکٹر کمانڈر ایس سی او کرنل کاشف نے اہم ملاقات کی، جس میں خطے میں مواصلاتی نظام کی بہتری اور 5G سروس کے آغاز کے حوالے سے پیش رفت کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔ ملاقات کے دوران سیکٹر کمانڈر نے وزیر اعلیٰ کو بریفنگ دیتے ہوئے بتایا کہ سپیشل کمیونی کیشنز آرگنائزیشن (ایس سی او) گلگت بلتستان میں ٹیلی فون اور انٹرنیٹ کی سہولیات کو جدید تقاضوں سے ہم آہنگ کرنے کے لیے متحرک ہے۔ تمام اضلاع خصوصاً دور دراز اور پسماندہ علاقوں میں موبائل اور انٹرنیٹ سروس کی اپ گریڈیشن پر کام تیزی سے جاری ہے، جبکہ خطے میں تیز ترین 5G سروسز کی فراہمی کے لیے بھی اہم اقدامات کیے جا رہے ہیں۔وزیر اعلیٰ گلگت بلتستان امجد حسین نے اس موقع پر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہاکہ گلگت بلتستان میں مواصلاتی رابطہ بحال رکھنے میں ایس سی او کا مثبت کردار ہے، تاہم موجودہ دور کی ضروریات کے پیش نظر انٹرنیٹ کی سہولیات کو مزید فعال بنانے کی ضرورت ہے۔معیاری انٹرنیٹ کی عدم دستیابی کے باعث طالب علموں کو تعلیمی سرگرمیوں اور تاجر برادری کو روزمرہ کے امور میں سخت دشواری کا سامنا ہے۔ وزیر اعلیٰ نے ہدایت کی کہ دور دراز کے عوام کی پریشانیوں کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے ترجیحی بنیادوں پر انٹرنیٹ کی فراہمی اور اپ گریڈیشن کے عمل کو یقینی بنایا جائے۔

Gilgit: The Special Communication Organization (SCO) has launched the SCOM 5G service on a trial basis in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Initially, 5G sites have been activated at four locations in Gilgit and Hunza, including Danyor, Jatal, Chinar Bagh Gilgit, and Karimabad Hunza.
According to the SCO, after the trial phase, the 5G service will be expanded to more areas of Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Special Communications Organization (SCO) has launched the trial 5G service in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The service was inaugurated by the DG SCO, with 20 additional sites expected to become operational by December 2026, bringing the total number of 5G sites to 27.
A practical demonstration of 5G technology was also conducted at the headquarters of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
A new step towards faster connectivity, digital innovation, and a more connected future for Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
