AI wrote almost 80% of the code in minutes.
Then I deployed it to production⦠and the whole system crashed. š¬
That experience taught me something every developer should understand in 2026:
AI coding is getting faster. But understanding the system is becoming more valuable.
AI can generate functions, components, and entire blocks of code.
But when production breaks, you still need to understand:
ā System architecture
ā Backend and frontend integration
ā Databases
ā Server environments
ā Debugging AI-generated code
ā Why something works locally but fails in production
The future of software development isnāt just about typing code faster.
Itās about being able to understand, validate, and fix what AI builds.
Do you think AI will replace junior developers ā or simply raise the skill level expected from them?
