Member National Assembly (MNA) Shahid Khattak said that construction of a 250km road network had been completed while work on Rs150 million projects was underway in the district.

Addressing the Haleem Bukhari awards distribution ceremony as chief guest at the Karak Press Club here, he said that only 20 percent of Rs150 million projects were from provincial Annual Development Program (ADP).

The lawmaker further said that work on Chashma-Akorkhel dam and Petroleum Institute would be launched soon, for which funds would be provided by the federal governments.

He added that work on the district sport complex would resume soon as the project had been stopped due to some technical reasons, which were resolved recently

The federal government has decided to upgrade the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway from the current six lanes to eight lanes due to increasing traffic, according to documents obtained by The Express Tribune.

The Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway (M9) is one of the most important motorways, connecting Karachi with Hyderabad. The six-lane motorway runs for 136 kilometers, while toll is collected from the drivers under an artificial intelligence system.

As per recent news, Turkey is considering buying either Block III JF-17 Thunder fighter planes from Pakistan or Chengdu J-10C semi-stealth 4.5-gen advanced multirole fighter jets from Pakistan after its deal with Lockheed Martin for 100 fifth-generation F-35 jets fell through owing to US sanctions.

According to the Eurasian Times, the government is currently evaluating its limited options after its geographical arch-rival, Greece, finished the acquisition of Dassault Rafale fighter jets from France, with Pakistan being the best-positioned provider given the two countries’ military relations.

The city managers are planning to make busiest Srinagar Highway signal free by constructing three underpasses or interchanges.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ali Nawaz Awan on Monday told Dawn that that it has been decided that Srinagar Highway will be made signals free.

He said that Planning Minister Asad Umar,, soon will chair a meeting to get briefing from CDA on the project.

“CDA is already working on making the Srinagar Highway signal free and he said and added that currently, motorists have to face traffic congestions on various locations including at G-10 and G-11 signals.

Pakistan government is set to build a dedicated double-track corridor from Karachi Port to a new rail-to-logistics terminal in Pipri Marshalling Yard to tackle port congestion.

According to sources, around 10,000 containers were parked at Karachi Port, which was a cause of severe congestion.

The matter was referred to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) but no response came. Furthermore, the matter of lack of storage space at the West Wharf was still pending resolution.

The Ministry of Railways, in a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Transport and Logistics, sought its support for executing the plan of building a double-track corridor.

It was pointed out that a rail logistics study, carried out with the assistance of World Bank, had recommended the development of a dedicated double-track corridor from Karachi Port to a new rail-to-logistics terminal in Pipri Marshalling Yard.
