The rugby world mourns the passing away of Jonah Lomu, one of the most imposing athletes to have graced the pitch. Aged 40, All Blacks legend Jonah Lomu died at home in Auckland. Former All Blacks doctor John Mayhew confirmed on Wednesday that Lomu, survived by wife Nadene and young boys Brayley, 6, and Dhyreille, 5, died unexpectedly, although he has a long history of health issues. Civil Service College Mauritius (CSCM) launched its first courses yesterday namely: Customer Service excellence, and Leadership: Making a difference, for some 120 officers. The official launching ceremony was held on Monday in Forest Side, in the presence of the Minister of Civil Service and Administrative Reforms, Mr Alain Wong. Government has given its approval for consultations to be held with stakeholders to finalise a series of draft reports before their submission to the relevant United Nations Committees and to the African Commission. The 4th periodic report on the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment for period 2011-2015, is one among the Reports. The Republic of Poland has solicited the support of Mauritius for the United Nations Security Council election to be held in 2017 at the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly for a non-permanent seat.
