The Torkhel tribe (or Torah Khel) is one of the major and original Pashtun tribes of the Ghilzai (Ghilzai) branch. This tribe, with a rich and warlike historical background, lives mainly in the provinces of Kabul (especially Deh Sabz district and the Pul-e Charkhi area) and Laghman in Afghanistan, and some of their branches are also present in Pakistan. The roots, history and structure of the Torkhel tribe include the following: Root of the name: In Pashto, the word "Torrah" means sword and "Khel" is the suffix of the tribe. Therefore, the Torkhel can be called the "tribe of swords" or warriors.
