About the Role
We are seeking an experienced AI Agent Developer to lead the design and implementation of an AI-powered educational assistant. The role requires the development of an AI agent that will leverage both proprietary school district curriculum data and large language models (LLMs) to provide real-time, personalized responses to users via a mobile application. You’ll work closely with a cross-functional team of educators, data engineers, and mobile developers to create a product that improves learning outcomes and educator efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop architecture capable of ingesting proprietary educational content and integrating with (e.g., GPT-4 or similar).
Build APIs and pipelines to securely access and process structured and unstructured curriculum data from school districts.
Fine-tune and prompt-engineer LLMs to align outputs with grade-level standards and district-specific instructional goals.
Implement agent memory, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and context management strategies for accurate and personalized user responses.
Collaborate with to ensure seamless integration and real-time communication between the AI backend and the front-end UI.
Ensure compliance with , , and other student data privacy regulations. Establish for safe and age-appropriate content generation.
Monitor, evaluate, and improve agent performance based on usage analytics and feedback loops.
Qualifications
4+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years working on / or -integrated applications.
Proven experience with , or other LLM ecosystems such as , , Google , and Meta’s models
Proven experience with , , , , or similar frameworks.
Proficiency in , REST APIs, and data processing pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
Experience working with vector databases (e.g., , , ) for implementing retrieval-augmented generation ( ).
Familiarity with K-12 educational standards and instructional content integration is a strong plus.
Strong understanding of data privacy and security best practices in educational settings.
Experience fine-tuning LLMs or using prompt engineering to align outputs with goals and age-appropriate responses.
Hands-on experience with cloud services (e.g., , , ) and containerization tools (e.g., , ) is a plus.
Strong analytical and debugging skills with a test-driven development mindset.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
