We were thrilled to meet so many wine enthusiasts at the language industry unconference in Birmingham – thank you and cheers to all of you! As the host of a wine tasting break, TextPartner's representatives - Ewa and Marek - had the pleasure of engaging in conversations about languages and wine. They also wrote a short article on our website exploring the connection between the two within their professional experiences.

A big thank you to Association of Translation Companies for giving Ewa and Marek the opportunity to take attendees on a virtual walk through some world-class vineyards in the UK and Poland. Despite their cool climates and smaller scale, both countries certainly produce outstanding wines! Ewa and Marek were also amazed to raise £240 for Translators without Borders through a wine raffle! Those who remember the two cycling across the UK for TWB in 2015 will know just how exciting this news is for us.

Last but not least, the wines which Ewa and Marek selected come from family-owned estates dedicated to quality in every aspect of their production. As a quick reminder of what we tasted and where it came from, check out the description of the four wines in our website.

A *Conference Host's* job is a bit more than overseeing an event. It's about creating an environment where everyone feels engaged and valued - that's how we wanted everyone to feel in Gdańsk for our EULOGIA ALLIANCE spring conference on 23 and 24 May and a celebration of Poland's 20th year in the European Union! I am SUPER EXCITED to announce I will soon be hosting an event for the *EULOGIA ALLIANCE* in Gdańsk! We have a programme packed with management topics (courtesy of Jorge Cabezas and team), but I have not forgotten to share what Gdańsk has to offer as a tourist destination :) I am looking forward to having all the Eulogians soon to share, learn, discuss and celebrate!

*A spelling revolution in Polish, starting on 1 January 2026*, is likely to leave many orthographically challenged, particularly impacting content owners who are unaware and unprepared for the upcoming changes. However, there will be exceptions. Professional linguists, like our in-house team at TextPartner, are already examining the changes to develop blacklists of obsolete terms and creating guidelines to help clients embrace the challenge.

Please note that these new spelling rules will affect not only newly created content but also all previous content, including that generated by machine translation engines.
