The part of design systems nobody talks about enough? Documentation 👈

Not the "nice to have" kind. The kind that decides if your system actually gets used - or gets ignored after 2 weeks.

Here's what usually happens:
You built the components. You thought through the patterns. And two weeks later? Nobody's using it.

So teams go back to what they know: rebuilding, rewriting, repeating the same mistakes 😐

✅ You can build a great design system - clean components, scalable structure, everything in place.

But the real challenge is helping people actually use it.

Because without context, everyone starts interpreting things their own way.
And that’s when the system slowly begins to drift.

That’s exactly why we started documenting Silk - our design system.
At first, it was supposed to be a short manual…

But the deeper we went, the clearer it became:
The more we share, the better people can adapt and customize it.

So the “short manual” turned into a 50-page guide 📒

This work was led by our Senior Product Designer, Karina Graj, who translated the system into something designers can actually apply in real product work.

Meet our next Human of Netguru – Katrzyna Karpińska-Nowak, Senior Growth Specialist.

🎩 “Over the past six years at Netguru, I’ve worn many hats — from managing campaigns and producing content assets to collaborating closely with subject-matter experts. Currently, I focus on email campaigns and making marketing processes run smoothly.

📓 One of my proudest achievements is setting up the ebook flow at Netguru. What started as a one-off initiative has grown into a steady, results-driven process.

💪 I’m most engaged when I can take full ownership — from strategy through ex*****on to results. That’s why I especially enjoy projects like dedicated campaigns, working closely with the R&D team, or producing ebooks. These are the moments when I feel the most energy and purpose in my work.

💚 What I value most about working at Netguru is the flexibility. It allows me to truly balance my professional and family life. I also deeply appreciate the people — my colleagues see me not just as a worker, but as a human being. There’s real trust, understanding, and respect here, and that makes all the difference.

🐐 If I could do another job for just one day, I would love to spend this time on a farm – feeding goats and making cheese from their milk. It feels grounding, hands-on, and refreshingly simple.

🎹 As a 10-year-old, I had many dreams: becoming a famous pianist, a professional ice skater — but above all, I dreamed of having an impact on the world and making it a better place.
