The drop-off rate is the measure of how many people left the event or a single session early. When many people are leaving, it is most likely an indicator that the content is not engaging. It is useful to know if the session is conducted in a way that’s boring or if the material is simply not interesting. 😴

Additionally, it is worth noting at what point a participant dropped-off because it could simply be that the session is too long or there are not enough attractive activities to keep the interest high. People generally have a low attention span, so either keep the sessions short, or engage with the audience using games, visual material, polls, etc. 🎲

Interactions between users and live communication are a key element of the meetings. The Meetinga Event App provided additional space in the form of a 1: 1 chat and a group chat where participants could talk, share requests and announcements. An important tool in the hands of the organizer was also push notifications, which were used for quick announcements and organizing time during the event.
During the lecture, the organizer had two additional elements at their disposal:
🔹 asking questions live with the option of adding hearts, i.e. adding likes to a question that has already been asked, thanks to which the
🔹 questions were not repeated, and the tutor could focus his attention on the most popular ones;
🔹 Mentimeter - a tool implemented in the application, thanks to which the event manager could conduct even more complex, but at the same time graphically attractive voting.
A separate factor that is crucial when implementing such applications is communication with the provider. The Meetinga team was at the service of the event manager by phone and e-mail throughout the period before and during the event.

Information tiles

The requirement that faced the application was to provide information in a way that is readable for users. It was possible thanks to the cooperation with the event manager and the segregation of data into easy-to-browse categories. The Meetinga Event App allows administrators to create any number of articles in which separate text and graphic information can be added. Additionally, to avoid adding everything in the form of a long list, articles can be divided into convenient subject sections. Thanks to this, information about the dress code does not mix with the results of workshop sessions during the event.

While organizing hybrid event, remember to pay attention to the online attendees. They sit in front of the monitor, and thus there are many factors that may distract their attention from actual participation in the event. As we all know, attention and active participation contribute to satisfaction, and this in turn makes the participants come back to the next editions of your event.

Therefore, make sure that:
▪️ the lectures were short and concise - prolonged sitting in front of the screen will make online participants tired;
▪️ the event was interactive - the ability to write, take part in surveys or ask questions will provide you with the attention of participants not only in the room, but also in front of the monitor;
▪️ engage the audience - questions asked by the speakers, the content of the slides, and the lectures should be engaging for the audience, it will increase their engagement and satisfaction.

Important aspect of online events is the possibility of inviting speakers from abroad as well as hosting attendees from different countries too.
