AI Brings a Taste of Humanity to the WordPress Industry
Spark is the result of a debate that has been raging since the 1960’s. While you are probably very familiar with AI (Artificial Intelligence), the idea that computers can learn to think like people, you may be less familiar with the field of IA (Intelligence Augmentation), the use of computers to complement and benefit the creative thinking that only a human is capable of.
As websites and technology have become more and more complex, it becomes increasingly difficult to understand it all. In fact, we would say that it is nearly impossible to understand every aspect of computer science as a single human being. Take a WordPress website. You have the servers that it lives on, which are machines. On top of which you have an operating system – NGINX in our case. And on top of that, server-level technologies like Varnish for caching, which is it’s own incredibly complex system. And we haven’t even gotten to your website yet.
Then you add WordPress, and open source project built at the hands of hundreds. And, maybe you also run 5, 10, 20, or 50 plugins, each written by a different author or set of authors. Some in PHP. Some in javascript. Some in variations thereof, like jQuery or React. Each one of these languages and ideas is a specialty unto itself.
So, in many ways, ‘web mastering‘ in the traditional perspective is almost impossible. You need a genius on staff to be able to truly understand and be able to fix all of these things. Or a team. Oh yes, that works too. A team of trained experts, each one deeply knowing their own area.
