We’re proud to share that the Cystack Red Team has discovered a new security vulnerability in , one of the world’s most widely used network protocol analyzers.

The vulnerability was officially published by Wireshark as wnpa-sec-2026-73 and affects the Bluetooth Attribute Protocol dissector.

A specially crafted malformed packet or capture file could cause Wireshark to crash, resulting in a denial-of-service condition.

Discovered by: CYSTACK Red Team
Advisory: wnpa-sec-2026-73
Affected: Wireshark 4.6.0–4.6.7 and 4.4.0–4.4.17
Fixed: Wireshark 4.6.8 and 4.4.18

This discovery reflects CYSTACK’s continued investment in security research, vulnerability discovery, and advanced Red Team capabilities, while contributing to the security of technologies used by the global cybersecurity community.

وشارك كل من المهندس إبراهيم الجعافرة والمهندسة آيات النجار ضمن لجنة التحكيم، حيث ساهموا في إعداد وصياغة الأسئلة الخاصة بالمحور التقني والأمن السيبراني، في خطوة تهدف إلى تعزيز التفكير الإبداعي وتنمية المهارات التقنية لدى الطلبة 🔐✨
