Technology - Smart phones beware…?

Recently the highly anticipated Vision Pro, apples new Argumentes Reality (AR) head set, was released on sale to the public in North America.

Following Microsoft HoloLens and Google Glass, which have focused on business use.

This has finally brought to the consumer market a AR/VR product not mainly focused on the gamers but for “everyday” use.

Although the replacement of smart phones is still a way away, especially with the impracticality of such a large energy hungry device, smaller AI gadgets are have been catching on.

This January, at the 2024 CES IT exhibition in Las Vegas, the startup company Rabbit had a hit with its new R1 pocket digital personal assistant. With smartphone and laptop producers aiming to include ai chips in their future products, in a bid to curtail the low sales figures from last year. This Rabbit R1 ai driven product, expected to be upgraded this summer, could be an indication of how the next generation of smart phones would work.

Other devices, such as the Humane ia pin, which reminds me of the coms device used in the Star Trek movies, have been selling well. Also with ai due be more integrated into other items, like ear pods and examples such as Meta´s Ray Ban smart glasses, make this future trend virtually impossible to avoid. Pun intended 😉
