University Collaboration in Action: Wipro Timisoara & FEAA Timisoara

For the second time this year, Wipro Romania proudly partnered with the the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEAA) | Facultatea de Economie și de Administrare a Afacerilor din Timișoara through the “HR Management 2030: Challenges and Realities” initiative.
The sessions focused on ethics in the workplace and the Five Habits that promote inclusive, high-performing teams. It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas, share real-world insights, and strengthen our connection with the academic community.
We’re grateful to our Country Head Ciprian Dan, Talent Skilling Lead Laura Iacob, Quality manager, Delia Mocanu and GPO Lead Alina Gabriela Sandor for guiding the discussions and sharing thoughtful insights on how values and ethics translate into everyday leadership.

This week, we hosted a special virtual event dedicated to celebrating our colleagues’ beloved animals. Pets play a significant role in our wellbeing. They provide companionship, reduce stress, and encourage physical activity.
The Pet-Friendly Meeting brought together team members for a light and engaging session that included:

💬 Personal stories shared in a moderated discussion
❓ A fun and interactive Animal Quiz
We were also pleased to announce the winner of the Wipro Romania Pet Photo Contest: Otto, an adorable dog who captured the hearts of our voters during the dedicated voting phase held prior to the call.

On Saturday morning, the Wipro Timisoara team showed their dedication to environmental sustainability by planting all 660 saplings during the tree planting event at Giulvaz, Timis. 🌳
This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to combat climate change and promote green spaces. The perfect weather and ideal soil conditions, thanks to recent rains, ensured a promising start for the forest. 
Same as always, we were happy that we also had our Country Head, Ciprian Dan and HR Head, Mihaela Popa, ACC planting with us. 
We are incredibly proud of our team's efforts and the significant positive impact we are making on the environment! 🌍💚

We are thrilled to share the success of our recent planting event! Wipro Cares Romania, in collaboration with Plantăm fapte bune în România, has once again demonstrated our commitment to protecting the environment. 💚

Our dedicated team managed to plant 760 saplings at Baza Aeriană Boboc, Buzău. This effort is a significant step towards repopulating the country's tree cover and ensuring a breathable future for all.

Wipro Romania celebrates 15 years in Timisoara 🎊

Wipro Romania recently marked a significant milestone, celebrating 15 years of excellence and innovation at our Timisoara location. This event highlighted our commitment to growth and development in the region, showcasing the achievements and contributions of our dedicated team. As part of the celebration, 30 colleagues who have been with Wipro for 15 years in Timisoara were honored with special diplomas, recognizing their loyalty and dedication.

Over the years, Wipro has made a significant impact on the local community in Timisoara. We have created numerous job opportunities, contributed to the local economy, and supported various community initiatives. 🌟 Harnessing Efficiency and Creativity: Our Martisor Workshop Success! 🌟

At Wipro, we foster innovation and teamwork through engaging activities. Our recent Martisor Workshop, sponsored by our Quality Team, brought together diverse teams to create unique martisoare while learning valuable lessons in efficiency and collaboration. Participants chose between a production team (streamlined process) and a specialist team (individual creativity). We had 2 fully booked sessions, each lasting 30 minutes.

Workshop Highlights:

👉Team A (production): 12 bracelets, 8 passed quality check, 3.75 minutes per bracelet.
👉Team B (specialist): 7 bracelets, all passed quality check, 4.29 minutes per bracelet.
👉Team C (production): 5 bracelets, all passed quality check, 6.00 minutes per bracelet.
👉Team D (specialist): 7 bracelets, 4 passed quality check, 7.50 minutes per bracelet.

🏅We had 31 total martisoare, with 24 passing quality check, and an average time of 5.39 minutes per martisor.

Key Observations:

Efficiency: Production teams were more time-efficient, averaging 4.88 minutes per bracelet
Productivity: Production teams produced more bracelets per member (1.31) than individual teams (1.08).
Quality: While production teams were faster, individual teams maintained higher quality standards.

Production teams outperformed specialist teams in both speed and quantity.

Lessons for our future workshops: Enhanced training, standardized procedure, balanced workload, material management, time allocation and continuous improvement.

As Quality, our job is to make sure we find the best possible solution for our customers. By using analytics, we can look at multiple facets of the business, make use of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and strive to improve constantly.
