The third Deep Roots session of the summer got off to a rough start, with rain threatening to spoil the day before it even began. But in timely fashion, the clouds gave way and the sun came out, casting a soft light over the lake for the rest of the day.

Once the weather settled, so did the group, into a presentation on AI-enabled software development that gave everyone plenty of food for thought.

Fitting, then, that the day ended with actual food - burgers by the lake, closing out the session in style, seasoned with good conversation and good company.

Our Deep Roots initiative returned for a second group of our colleagues, same lakeside setting, new topic.

This round's training dove into secure software practices with LLMs, working through the questions and risks that come with the territory.

And just like the first round, the training was followed by an afternoon in the pool, great water, and plenty of good conversation.

More to come! 🌱

Roots & Rise continued last week with Deep Roots, and the name turned out to be fitting in more ways than one.

We brought some of our teams together at for a great day, diving deep into secure software practices during the training, and diving just as deep into the pool once it wrapped up.

True to what the summer programme is about (resilience, regeneration, and development ), the day gave us a bit of everything: great learning, great water, and plenty of connection along the way.

Stay tuned for the coming events!

This week, we welcomed 4 promising students into our summer practice program in software engineering. Guiding them through their first tasks are mentors who went through the same thing themselves not so long ago.

Our first student program in software engineering began back in 2016, built on a simple idea: the best way to learn is by rolling your sleeves and diving into the real work, hands-on. The times and the generations have changed since, but that same belief still drives our partnerships with universities and our engagement with students today.

We're looking forward to watching these 4 students learn and grow over the next 6 weeks!

Common Ground, the second event of our Roots & Rise summer programme, was an afternoon of tennis, foot tennis, badminton, football, and beach volley, one game rolling into the next.

Resilience and growth is built by pushing through hard moments, but also by moving, recovering, and getting back up for the next point, the next match. In the simplest sense, that's what the afternoon was: colleagues playing and laughing their tiredness away, resting for a minute, and going again.

Stay close for more moves from Common Ground and the coming events! 🌻

Roots & Rise, our summer programme, had its first moment this week, and we couldn't have asked for a better one to start with.

Signal Boost brought us together on the top floor of our Cluj office to celebrate growth and turning points. The summer programme is built around resilience, regeneration, and development, and those ideas were present throughout the day, right down to the afternoon we spent painting our own flower pots and planting something in them to carry home - which, if we're honest, turned out to be the part nobody wanted to rush through.

Stay tuned for the coming events!

A turning point is more meaningful when you pause to feel it.

We're at one - as an industry, as a company, as teams, as people growing into new roles and new challenges - and summer felt like the right moment to mark that intentionally. And even give it a name: Roots & Rise.

Stay grounded, good things are taking root. 🌱

What does sustainability actually mean when it comes to software?

It's a question that sounds simple until you start pulling at it.
And last year, we sat down with one of our colleagues, Silvia, who had spent the better part of her master's year researching just that, trying to understand what it really looks like to build digital products that are efficient, ethical, and responsible not just in theory, but in every decision that shapes them from the first line of code to the infrastructure that keeps them running.

Today, on World Environment Day, felt like the right moment to bring that answer back up.

It may feel long ago, but there was a version of you that sat at a toy just like this and felt limitless. Technology grew up with us and took us places we couldn't have predicted. But it was never the tool that made the difference, it was the belief behind it.

Hold onto that.

Our partnership with TreasurUp spans almost a decade of shared challenges, evolving ambitions, and a mutual belief that financial technology can be made smarter for the banks that rely on it.

This spring marked the third edition of our AI hackathon, and with each year, the focus sharpens. This time, colleagues from both the R&D and TreasurUp teams came together for two days with one question at the center of it all: how can AI meaningfully enhance the TreasurUp product? The spotlight was firmly on agentic features, exploring how intelligent agents, machine learning, and LLMs can take the product to the next level. It started as 6 focused topics and it ended up growing into something much bigger.

Like every hackathon at COERA, this one came with a theme as well - a character from literature or comics that sets the tone for the days ahead. There's a surprising amount of foresight in those stories about where technology and human ambition can take us.

This edition belonged to the Avengers, and it felt fitting, because what happened over those two days was very much a team effort, with promising solutions delivered by the end of it.

In the posts ahead, we'll take you deeper into what we built and the journey that brought us here. 🛡️
