Two weeks ago, colleagues across Levi9 laced up their running shoes, hit the pavement and got on their bikes for BeSTRONG Challenge, our first-ever global sports challenge.

The idea is simple: walk, run or cycle toward a personal goal, and together, cover the distance of a trip around the world. But it's not just about kilometers, every bit of distance we cover as a team also helps unlock donations for local charities chosen by our own colleagues in each country. Motion with a mission. Some colleagues have already hit 100% of their personal goal, and we're only getting started. Just three more weeks to go!

That's exactly what our HACK9 participants explored this year, under the theme Code less, AI more. The event was intense and focused on the solution.

So, for this edition of Tech Stories, we took some time to hear the real stories behind those solutions, straight from our Romanian teams. Their approach. Their challenges. Their results. And a few honest fails along the way.

Building an AI agent is easy. Building an agentic system that actually works is the real challenge.

Our levi niner Alexandru Bita broke down what it takes to design multi-agent systems that reason, collaborate, and scale, using a real onboarding automation as the case study.

Five capabilities every strong agent needs:

🔹 Reasoning & Planning — knowing what to do next, not just what was asked
🔹 Tool Integration — calling APIs, querying databases, taking real action
🔹 Memory — retaining state only when the task truly requires it
🔹 Dynamic Data Retrieval — pulling knowledge on demand from trusted sources
🔹 Behavioral Contracts — clear rules for what to do, how to do it, and what to return

The result: a supervisor-worker system where agents run in parallel, communicate through isolated mailboxes, and hand off work without ever stepping on each other.

The Data Engineering Summer Practice has officially started!

19 students have 8 weeks ahead of practical experience with the modern data stack, including:
🔹Data modelling
🔹SQL transformations with dbt
🔹Pipeline orchestration with Apache Airflow
🔹Streaming concepts with Kafka

These young talents earned their spot not just on paper. They showed us their ambition, teamwork, and curiosity firsthand through a half-day assessment center built around real collaboration.

Kudos to mentors Ecaterina Voronca and Adrian Iftime for leading this track and bringing the data engineering world to the next generation of talent. And a big thank you to Alexandru Crisiarcu for coordinating this new edition of Summer Practice.
