The Ready4IT journey is going strong and the QA session did not disappoint.

Our mentors created a relaxed, open atmosphere, the kind where real conversations happen and real insights follow.

The analogy that everyone loved? A QA engineer is basically a detective. Finding hidden issues before they turn into big problems. It takes curiosity, critical thinking, and the ability to truly understand how users experience software.

Our students reflected about it. Here's what they took away:

QA is a team effort, not just the tester's job
It's about reducing risk, not chasing perfection
AI is a tool that helps testers

No matter which technical path they choose, QA will be part of their daily work

It started, as it always does, with someone firing up the grill too early.

By midday, the field was already buzzing - kids charging toward the activities before their parents had even found a spot to sit, colleagues who spend most of the year on calls suddenly very serious about their badminton game, and somewhere in the middle of it all, a pub quiz about 18 years of Qubiz that revealed just how much (and how little) people remember about where we started.

The food truck didn't get a break all day. The ice cream ran low faster than expected. And as the evening came in, someone lit the bonfire and without anyone really deciding to, everyone just... stayed.

That's the thing about this day every year. It doesn't need an agenda. It finds its own rhythm - part sports afternoon, part family gathering, part reminder of something easy to lose track of when the sprints are piling up and the deadlines are close.

Qubiz is 18 years old. The people in that field - colleagues, partners, kids who've grown up watching their parents build something - that's what 18 years actually looks like up close.

Got the whole company in one place this week for our mid-year meeting. With over 300 of us spread across different cities, we ran a few of these, so everyone got to take part and make their voices heard.

The big theme: the way software gets built is shifting under all of us, and we're leaning into it. We are looking forward to becoming a company that uses all of the tools at their disposal efficiently and sustainably, while also focusing on our human-led development.

We were honest about it too. What's working, what's still messy, what we're figuring out as we go.

Best part? A Q&A where uncomfortable questions were asked that quickly became a note-worthy discussion.

A project dear to us has just become reality. We're proud that Caravana cu Medici Bihor, together with Caravana cu Medici -Timișoara Branch and Rotary Club Oradea Insignis, has won funding through the Raiffeisen Comunități program.

Here's what the project sets out to do: installing 30 defibrillators in 30 rural communities across western and south-western Romania. Over 6,700 people will be trained to recognize cardiac arrest and how to step in.

Why it matters: out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of preventable death in Romania. Only 4 in 100 people survive. One of the lowest rates in Europe.

In rural areas, an ambulance can take over 40 minutes to arrive. In this timeframe, a trained person nearby is the difference between life and death.

That's exactly what this project is building.

We sponsored this project because it's a real example of what we believe in: knowledge matters most when it's used to help and protect people.

The Ready4IT journey continues: 3 sessions focused on AI and Data Science, straight to the real stuff. Our mentors pulled back the curtain on how they actually use AI and Data Science in their work: internal projects, real client solutions across Healthcare, Insurance, and Logistics, and the fast-paced world of Hackathons.

This isn't new ground for us — since 2018, long before ChatGPT, Qubiz has been running hands-on projects in data modeling, generic algorithms, NLP and OCR model training. "Ahead of the curve" isn't a tagline, it's where we've been for years.
We explored the tools that truly deliver, the ones that don't, and the cautionary tales that helped demystify what AI can and can't do.

At Qubiz, we believe the best way to learn software development is by doing it, on real projects, with real teams, using the tools that matter today.

That's why we're launching our Summer Internship/Practice Program for 2026. 🎓

6 weeks. Full-time. On-site in Cluj-Napoca or Oradea.
Aug 17 – Sep 25* | Apply by June 19

You'll get hands-on experience with:
✦ .NET + React full-stack development
✦ AI coding tools — Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot
-Requirements gathering & spec creation with AI
-Azure DevOps & real development workflows
-AI-assisted testing and debugging
-How the development workflow changes when AI is in the loop

No extensive experience needed, just the right mindset. We're looking for people who are curious, take ownership, communicate well, and have a genuine passion for technology. English is mandatory.

💡 The Qubiz Hackathon has come to an end and this edition raised the bar.

For the first time, our teams worked directly from real-world domain challenges brought in by Fred Kwakkel and René ten Hove ten Hove, who joined us in Oradea from the Netherlands: actual gaps identified by domain experts in healthcare and energy.

The results reflected that. From AI-assisted shift handover summaries and patient timelines in healthcare, to predictive consumption models and intelligent BESS dashboards in energy, every solution was built around a problem that genuinely exists.

Several projects are already in conversation with prospects. That is the standard we aim for.

Our thanks go to every colleague who brought their expertise and commitment to making this edition one to remember.

🚀 Today, the Qubiz Hackathon starts in Oradea.

Across our healthcare and energy verticals, we have identified challenges that are genuinely holding organisations back.

Fred Kwakkel, Managing Director at Qubiz Healthcare, and Rene ten Hove, Managing Director at Qubiz Energy, are both on campus, working directly alongside our teams. That proximity between domain knowledge and technical expertise is deliberate. It is where the most valuable thinking happens.

Our colleagues: engineers, designers, analysts and product specialists are here to do what they do best: take a complex problem apart and build something that works.

We are proud of the talent in this room and we are genuinely curious to see what they deliver.
