AI cannot make a building smart if its systems aren’t connected.
One of the key messages Maan Ghannam , the Co-Founder and CEO of Keyera Solutions, shared during the “ Building for the Future panel” is that AI in buildings should not start with AI itself.
It starts with integration.
For AI to create real value in a building, its different systems first need to communicate with each other, their data needs to be accessible, and the right integration layer needs to be in place. This allows the building to operate as one connected environment rather than as a collection of separate systems.
And this cannot be an afterthought at the end of a project.
AI readiness needs to be considered from the design stage, bringing building technologies, ICT, smart infrastructure, data, and systems integration together from the very beginning.
