Current and incoming regulations, such as Cyber Resilience Act and Radio Equipment Directive, affect many electronic devices, including on-board computing solutions. A secure machine is a necessity, and the implementation needs to cover the life cycle of the machine. CrossControl’s product platform is built with security in mind, both from the hardware and software selection, with the necessary tools including robust updates, key management, device hardening, and vulnerability management to meet the new requirements.

Today is Swedish Home Guard Uniform at Work day, a chance to recognize members of the Swedish Home Guard who split their time between civilian and uniform jobs. At CrossControl Tomas Enberg (pictured) has been part of the home guard in Gävleborg region for 22 years and Mats Kjellberg recently joined the forces in Västmanland/Uppland. The Swedish Home Guards main objective is to be part of the national defense of Sweden; a typical task is to protect critical or sensitive infrastructure in crisis or war. In addition to that they can provide help during special circumstances such as missing persons search, forest fires, and other natural disasters.

Today CrossControl is taking part in Voxnadalen Gymnasium’s Engineering lunch. 70 3rd year students will have the opportunity to learn about different paths to working as an engineer, what the career could look like and the diversity of opportunities in the region. Ida Grannas, Electronics Designer, will give a presentation on how CrossControl helps to make industrial machines smarter, safer and more productive with on-board computing solutions built at our world class facility in Alfta.

CrossControl hosted a visit from Woxgym school’s Technical Class. The students toured our world class manufacturing facility and visited our CAD department to learn about some of the careers and opportunities they can explore when they finish school.

Today is World Health Day, an annual event led by WHO that draws attention to a specific health topic. This year’s focus is “Together for health. Stand up for science". A year long campaign that also reflects how we view health at CrossControl where we take the opportunity today to encourage reflection on current wellbeing and energy levels. Looking at what we can do individually and collectively that can contribute to a better day. Health is not just exercise and diet. It can be just as much about how we feel at work and how we communicate, the importance of recovery or feeling safe and included. Sometimes we can see that it is the little things that make the biggest difference. By working together, leaning on knowledge and with evidence of what actually works we can, step by step, build a better, healthier workplace.

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Teknikföretagen’s employer group for Southern Hälsingland to our production site in Alfta. A valuable visit with strong dialogue and knowledge sharing, where a major focus was on the future of skills supply in our region. The discussions highlighted the importance of close collaboration between industry, municipalities and the education system to ensure access to the right competence going forward. Thank you for a rewarding and insightful meeting.

Today CrossControl took part in Voxnadalen Gymnasium’s Future Fair. It featured exhibitors from various universities, unions and companies who took the opportunity to talk to the students about the opportunities that exist after high school. Linnea Tyren and Emma Gryting set up a small company showcase of our on-board computing solutions with demonstrations to show how the platform is designed and built in Sweden to enable machine intelligence for customers around the world.
