🔐 The growing acknowledgment of the importance of well-being in the workplace for sustained employability and mental health is evident. An essential choice faced by individuals with mental illness (MI) pertains to revealing their mental health condition to a supervisor, influencing the workplace's subsequent reaction.

✅ However the impact of disclosure decisions on employability and well-being remains underexplored, immediate effects of the disclosure include reduced inhibition and increased social support. Over the long term, disclosure can lead to empowerment, personal growth, and improved career prospects.

🔎 In a study conducted by Bogaers, Geuze, and Weeghelo (2023) notable link was found between disclosure choice and work well-being, possibly due to simultaneous positive and negative impacts of (non-)disclosure.

⚠️ Enhancing positive disclosure experiences underscores the need for a safe work environment where all workers,including non-disclosers, feel comfortable revealing their conditions. To foster a disclosure-friendly work environment,
intervention studies should target training supervisors to support MI-affected employees and address MI-related stigma.

🔸 In the preceding section, the discussion revolved around the potential risks and indicators of workplace bullying. Now, the focus shifts to a brief review preventive actions aimed at addressing and combatting bullying.📝

The employer is responsible for preventing workplace bullying. They must clearly state that bullying and victimization are unacceptable. Management should provide clear guidelines on reporting bullying incidents, outline appropriate actions when bullying occurs, assign responsibility for handling these measures, and offer support to victims.

📜 The Swedish Work Environment Authority emphasizes that handling workplace bullying and victimization is the responsibility of the employer and workplace safety organization. They don't mediate in conflicts, assign blame, or address compensation matters. If an employee wishes to report bullying or victimization through the safety representative or trade union, known as an "employee's report."

📋 The Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act ensures strict confidentiality for employee reports on worker protection matters. Employees can freely share workplace safety concerns without fear of reprisals. After receiving the report, appropriate measures, like inspection visits, may be taken. The report will be kept confidential, and if inquiries about its existence arise, it will not be confirmed or denied.

When employees have the freedom to schedule their work, they feel that their employer values their well-being and non-working life and provides employees with the option to choose when, how much, and from where to work. 🔍

There are many advantages of flexible working hours for Employees:
✅ Work-life balance has become crucial for all employees. Supporting employees during work positively affects their satisfaction with work-life balance and improves work performance. Employees with work-life balance difficulties often experience higher stress than those with a better balance.

✅ Flexibility empowers employees to control their work schedule, leading to better allocation of work and life responsibilities. This enables employees to fulfill their work and non-work roles more effectively, ultimately contributing to work-life balance. Finding this balance increases overall life satisfaction.

🔹 In conclusion, the use of flexible working practices has a positive impact on work-life balance and enhances the overall life satisfaction of employees.

What if you could open your mailbox without stress when you return from vacation?Oh, the holidays! 🌞
Synonyms of rest and disconnection… Except that when you return from vacation, we are guessing
you are swamped with e-mails and you quickly feel overwhelmed? It's connected to a well-known phenomenon,
called "post-vacation blues" or "post-travel depression".📧🤯

It is widely acknowledged that returning to work after a break can be challenging, and dealing with
a backlog of emails can be a significant source of stress. Research has shown that email overload is
a common problem in the workplace, with many people feeling overwhelmed and stressed by the
volume of messages they receive. A study published in the journal Computers in Human Behavior
found that email overload can have a significant impact on an individual's well-being and
job performance and lead to negative outcomes such as decreased job satisfaction, increased stress
levels, and reduced productivity.

✅ Mental health problems are a cause of a number of employees dropping out of work. Employee well-being is
crucial for overall health, as poor mental health and workplace stressors can lead to various physical illnesses.
Additionally, it can cause burnout, impacting personal and professional lives.

❗Dealing with a difficult boss, being assigned to unfamiliar tasks, and relationship problems with colleagues are common
factors causing stress and affecting the mental health of employees. In addition, multitasking expectations from
companies may hinder employees’ ability to deliver effectively.

🔸Improving communication skills and early communication with superiors can help resolve the situation.
In some cases, bosses may establish unrealistic targets. However, having an open and honest discussion
can help determine feasible deadlines that can be met.

📌Safeguarding public health is beneficial for both a productive workforce and the economy.
Psychosocial intervention courses, stress management training, and health promotion interventions have
been shown to positively impact mental well-being. Implementing a workplace mental health policy and program
benefits employee health could also boost company productivity, and enhances community well-being.

But these responses have serious consequences: less creativity, impaired decision-making, potentially fatal errors, and making the conflict worse.
