We’re excited to share some big news from the team.

Pitchwise has been selected by to implement the UpSkill Lab, a transformative programme designed to help African MSMEs and startups become truly investor-ready.

For us, this isn’t just another partnership; it’s a reflection of what Pitchwise was built for: helping founders raise smarter with the right tools, insights, and connections and making early-stage fundraising less of a black box and more of a structured, transparent process.

Over the next eight weeks, founders in Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa will go through an intensive journey of masterclasses, mentorship, and hands-on workshops delivered by experienced investors and diaspora professionals. They’ll also gain visibility at Demo Day and through a sponsored trip to the Africa Early Stage Investor Summit (), where they’ll engage directly with leading early-stage investors and industry pioneers.

Being part of AUDA-NEPAD’s initiative alongside , and is a huge moment for our team. We’re proud to be supporting this programme and can’t wait to see how these founders scale their businesses into ventures that are not just impact-ready but investor-ready.

“Protecting the ecosystem” is the buzzword. But what does it mean?

At some point, if we want genuine progress in the African startup ecosystem—not just protection—we must lean into transparency.

1. Transparency with customers.
2. Transparency with stakeholders.
3. Transparency with each other.

When we’re honest about our challenges, our strategies, and our learnings, something powerful happens:

- We stop operating in silos.
- We start building in concert.
- We open the door for shared solutions.

At Bantaba, we believe that transparency isn’t just good ethics; it’s good strategy. It fosters trust, enhances collaboration, and creates space for genuine, sustainable innovation.

What’s your take? Can openness and trust truly move the African tech ecosystem forward?

Welcome to H2 2025.

For African startup founders, this is your cue to hit pause and take stock.

The first half of the year may have felt like a sprint: product updates, investor calls, team changes, growth experiments, maybe even a few fires. But now’s the time to ask the tough questions:

1. What worked and why?
2. What didn’t and what did you learn?
3. Are you still solving the right problem for the right people?
4. What needs to shift before the year ends?

A mid-year review isn’t just a box to check. It’s an opportunity to realign your team, refine your strategy, and refuel for what’s next.

At Bantaba, we know the journey is never linear, but clarity at the halfway point can mean the difference between a scattered sprint and a strong finish.

Here’s to building better in H2.

How do investors decide what your startup is worth?

Understanding the Venture Capital Method gives founders a practical way to estimate valuation, especially in pre-revenue stages.

This guide breaks it down step-by-step, with examples you can use. Whether you’re raising your first round or just trying to make sense of “pre-money” vs “post-money”, this is for you.

One of the most repeated pieces of advice for any founder? Don’t give up.

Sounds simple, maybe even cliché. But let’s be real: most startups don’t crash and burn overnight because the idea was terrible. They fizzle out slowly because the founder gets mentally, emotionally, and financially tired and eventually walks away.

Some days will gut you. You’ll pitch to a room full of people and get blank stares. You’ll watch your bank account dip below comfortable. You’ll wonder if anyone cares about what you’re building.

But if you can outlast the doubt, yours and everyone else’s, you give yourself a chance. Staying in the game doesn’t guarantee success, but leaving it guarantees the opposite.
