It's been over a year since our last update so what have we've been up to?
Not meeting the target on our Kickstarter was a bummer but we learned from the experience and went back to the drawing board.
Focus has shifted more towards small- to medium-sized greenhouses, balconies and other forms of urban farming rather than just a sensor or two indoors.
The shift in focus has meant a redesign of the architecture and software. Two interesting changes are the separation of sensors from what is being monitored and multiuser support. Multiple sensors can now be aggregated to, for example, get the maximum or average temperature in the greenhouse or a you can use a single sensor as sensor input to multiple plants. Multiuser means the members in your urban farm or household can easier share an installation and you can easily give out individual permissions to sensors and other items if needed.
Work on the basic sensor, both wired and wireless versions, has seen good progress making them same almost the same size and we believe we've finally figured out the best way to waterproof them and integrate it nicely in the design.
The controller has also been redesigned to sit directly in the greenhouse and has two ports for sensors. As before sensors can be daisy chained so the controller should be able to handle some 30 wired sensors. Greenhouse owners also want to monitor air humidity so we added a sensor for that.
Overall things are looking good and we are aiming for a spring 2018 release on the EU market.
