🪞 The Lobby Lounge — Brand Identity: A Refined Heritage Reimagined

Completed in 2023, Pendulum Design reimagined the brand identity for The Lobby Lounge Singapore at InterContinental Singapore (currently Fraser House) — a heritage-rich hospitality destination located in the heart of the Bras Basah Bugis district.

As the hotel's courtyard and social heart, The Lobby Lounge serves as a gateway to the property's culinary experiences, from afternoon tea and signature cocktails to curated dining offerings. Drawing inspiration from the spices that define the property's culinary offerings, we developed a refined visual identity that reflects both the richness of local culture and the warmth of gathering.

The comprehensive rebrand included a new logo system, graphical language, menus, signage, and curated brand touchpoints designed to elevate the guest experience while celebrating the stories, flavours, and traditions that define the destination.

✳️ The Lobby Lounge — Graphical Motifs: Culture in Pattern

As part of the rebranding for The Lobby Lounge Singapore, Pendulum Design developed a suite of custom graphical motifs inspired by traditional Peranakan tilework and ornamental architectural detailing found throughout the space.

More than decorative elements, these motifs became a flexible visual system used across menus, signage, and brand touchpoints — helping distinguish the Lounge’s various offerings, from all-day dining and high tea to cocktails and seasonal specials. A contemporary interpretation of heritage through rhythm, repetition, and form.

We created a series of bespoke illustrations to accompany the venue’s cocktail programme — transforming the menu into a visual journey through the Bras Basah Bugis neighbourhood.

Inspired by iconic landmarks, temple architecture, tropical botanicals, and local cultural references, each illustration was carefully paired with a signature cocktail to bring storytelling into the guest experience. A thoughtful blend of mixology, culture, and visual narrative.
