IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear CompassList readers and friends,

It is with great sadness that we inform you that CompassList will cease publication Dec 1, 2021.

Increasingly, the operating conditions for the media industry worldwide have proven challenging. CompassList has managed to withstand the buffets for a good while but sadly, we are no exception.

When we started CompassList 5 years ago, we set out to be the local guide to what we saw were exciting, often innovative startups in emerging tech ecosystems, then still little known to the rest of the world. We began with China and others soon followed, in Asia and Europe. Over the years we have worked hard to build up a solid database of startups, founders and investors, while publishing related Insights to match, as livelier, more varied content that our readers could enjoy as well while gaining ideas, knowledge and information.

CompassList, as a media company and a research portal with its curated database, has been a valuable tool for our subscribers. As we still believe in the value of our work and mission, despite ceasing publication, we will open up CompassList for free access to everyone online from January 2022. If you are new and want to access CompassList’s databases and content for free, please come back in January to register for a free account.

We have seen for ourselves how startups from all sectors have realized their potential to make a difference to our society and human lives, and yielded real impact, as we anticipated. And the world needs fresh voices and better solutions in these times of crisis and uncertainty, more than ever before. By making our content freely available, we hope to help anyone who’s seeking new or better ideas and solutions, including those that can be tweaked or improved on. We also hope by doing so, we will continue to help startups win support, be it investments, customers or partners and allow even more people around the world to access the content and benefit from it, without the barrier of a paywall.
