Halo Indonesia! The Inclus team is thrilled to be in Jakarta, catching up with our amazing partners and friends!

At Inclus, we believe that advancing inclusive practices and special education goes beyond borders. Building a strong, supportive ecosystem is a regional effort. Every single market brings unique challenges and invaluable perspectives and by creating a network of shared knowledge across the region, we strengthen the entire community. When we learn from our regional neighbors, everybody wins!

As part of this cross-border collaboration, our founder, Shaun Tan, is honoured to be speaking at the upcoming COLIBRI EDU SEMINAR & PARENTS PANEL hosted by our wonderful friends at Colibri Allied Care and HaloKin

Shaun will be taking the stage alongside an incredible lineup of experts to champion a core Inclus philosophy, prioritizing life skills first and preparing individuals for true independence. He’ll be diving into these critical transitional milestones alongside Rebecca Diandra, followed by an insightful Parents Panel featuring Peggy Hassan and Vina Anastasia.

Let's connect, learn, and build a more inclusive region together. If you are in Jakarta, we would love to see you there!

A Meaningful Milestone in Inclusive Hiring with Alexandra Hospital, Singapore.

This April, we proudly began a new placement journey with Alexandra Hospital, welcoming a talented individual to support their HR initiatives with data analytics skills. To support a thoughtful start in integrating our candidate and building a strong foundation, the team kindly invited us to a breakfast sharing session with their entire HR function.

Even with robust onboarding structures already in place, the team chose to lean in, co-create and openly shared their hiring journey alongside Inclus. By bringing the full HR team together to align on supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN), they made a powerful statement. It reflects a deep commitment to shared ownership ensuring that inclusion isn't siloed, but actively championed across all departments.

What stood out most was the sheer intentionality of the employer. At every step, their focus has been entirely on making sure the candidate feels comfortable, seen, and valued. Inclusive hiring is a continuous journey of learning and adaptation, and we could not ask for a more thoughtful partner.

A heartfelt thank you to the team for your openness and collaboration. We look forward to continuing this journey together!

Special thanks to the Alexandra Hospital team:
Huay Ean, Empy Effendi, Arthur Chiang, Joy Tan, Rachel Neo, Maya Saramma George, and the entire AH HR team!

And a big shoutout to the Inclus team for driving this forward: Qingyan, Charmaine Chow, Shaun Tan, and Mavis.

Finally, after 8 awesome years of hustling, learning, and championing inclusion, we’ve hit Platinum! We are absolutely thrilled to be recognized with the Enabling Mark by SG Enable Enable.

Our journey over these last 8 years has been nothing short of amazing. From day one, our core mission has been to actively engage employers, supporting and empowering them to adopt meaningful, inclusive hiring practices.

To champion this externally, we know we must lead by example internally. We have taken the lead to rigorously review our own workplace policies and structures, ensuring we have a diverse mix of representation within our team. This commitment is crucial, it ensures that the services and guidance we provide are well-rounded, empathetic, and grounded in reality.

As we continue to tread and grow in this space, we ask for your continued patience and belief in us. We are working hard behind the scenes and will soon be launching more services designed to systemic inclusion processes for the wider sector!

A massive shoutout to the dedicated Inclus team for your hard work and passion, and a heartfelt thank you to the team at SG Enable for your unwavering belief in us. Let’s keep pushing boundaries together!

We are grateful to be recognised as part of the inaugural batch of RAISE SG Verified Leading Social Enterprises.

This standing affirms not just the work we do at Inclus, but also the importance of accountability, impact measurement, and long-term sustainability in the social enterprise sector. Being able to track, learn from, and strengthen our impact matters deeply to us as we continue building inclusive pathways for persons with disabilities.

This journey would not have been possible without the trust and support of many partners who believed in our mission - RAISE SG, SG Enable, DBS Foundation, Temasek Shophouse, Temasek Trust, Philanthropy Asia Alliance, Centre for Impact Investing and Practices, Common Ground Civic Centre & Consultancy, National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre, JTC Corporation, Barclays, Emerson, and many others who have walked alongside us.

Above all, this is a reflection of the people behind Inclus, a team that believes deeply in the work, shows up for one another, and keeps pushing for better inclusion every day.

Finally, we would like to wish raiSE a very happy 10th anniversary. Thank you for shaping the social enterprise ecosystem in Singapore and for making journeys like ours possible. We look forward to continuing this journey together and supporting more social enterprises to thrive.

Today, on International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we take a moment to celebrate the strength, joy, and resilience of our disability community.

As we look back at the vibrant energy of this year’s Purple Parade, our hearts are full. Those moments captured the spirit of inclusion at its best, families, partners, volunteers, and participants standing together for a more accessible and equitable Singapore.

To all our stakeholders, partners, employers, volunteers, educators, parents, and supporters: thank you for walking this journey with us so relentlessly. Your belief in our mission fuels everything we do.

At Inclus, we remain committed to bridging the gap, creating opportunities, and empowering persons with disabilities through employment, lifelong learning, and community support.

Together, we will continue to push boundaries, open doors, and build a future where everyone regardless of ability, can thrive.

💜 Happy International Day of Persons with Disabilities!
Let’s keep the momentum going. Inclusion is not a moment, it’s a movement.

Today, we’re seeing a welcome shift in corporate mindsets. Increasingly, we’re seeing more forward-looking companies go beyond ‘doing good’, they’re embracing inclusive hiring as a smart, strategic choice. Recognising that persons with disabilities bring unique strengths and perspectives to their teams.

Putting inclusive hiring at the heart of their talent strategy, beyond CSR checkboxes. Investing in inclusive culture, job design, and retention strategies that make employment truly sustainable.

We’re grateful for these visionary partners, and hopeful that our journey helps light the way: inclusion can be impactful, the right way to hire can also be sustainable. And when both are in sync, the possibilities are greater than ever.

We’re proud to share that Inclus’ journey has been featured in the latest season of the DBS Sparks Series Season 4 – a powerful storytelling initiative by DBS that shines a light on real, pressing societal issues.

As our Co-Founder Shaun Tan shared:

“We’re honoured to be part of Sparks and Behind the Spark. The stories reflect what we believe – that inclusion is about seeing potential in every person and removing the barriers that hold them back. At Inclus, we recognise that addressing societal challenges like inequality starts with action. With the support of the foundation, we’ve been able to enhance our systems and services and scale up our impact. We hope our story will help inspire others that even small steps when taken together can build something much greater.”

Our sincere thanks to DBS Foundation for walking this journey with us, and to everyone who has believed in our mission of building an inclusive future of work for persons with disabilities.
