Technology grows mind-boggling'ly fast these days. To survive in technology domain, it's important to devote at least 2 hours of hand-on time these days.

It is also impossible to specialize in just one domain and be very good at it. Its important to keep growing in width as well as depth. There is no choice really!!.

Here is a short video on setting up a 2 - node SuSe Linux cluster on a VMware fusion environment. The tutorial includes setting up of:

1. Two units of SLES VM.
2. Installation of HA components.
3. Setting up of shared storage.
4. Setting up LVM (HA-LVM).
5. Configuration of resources on the cluster
6. Configuration of storage based fencing (SBD).

While colleagues often have the best intentions, occasionally a package gets upgraded without being recorded. Or a new piece of software is installed here but not there. Or a hotfix was applied on exactly 1 out of 800 machines. Or someone changed a few network configs last week and no one remembered to revert. Whatever the case, drift has been known to occur in even the best-kept environments. UpGuard detects change and flags it, ending configuration drift.
