BUFFALO WORSHIP (Part 3)
Canon AE-1 (busted lense or light meter?)
Kodak ColorPlus ISO 200

Thai water buffalo are revered (and infamous) across the country for their resilience in times of austerity; stemmed from ancient nomadic animal husbandry. Some ancient nomadic keepers were found to be buried with the buffalo remains as well as psychedelic mushrooms their "waste" would produce, cementing their reverence in history.

Concurrent to the awe inspiring divinity, they are equally infamous for magic imagery.

The dark malavolent side, Kwai Tanu ( buffalo arrow) is used to destroy the chosen victim. It is created with grave dirt, other funeral rites materials, human ashes/bones sourced from violent deaths, as well as sacred metals; all materials related to death rites. Kwai Tanu can be used as an assassin.

Venture into the light, Kwai Tanu can also be used as a guardian or ally to protect you and your home from its dark counter-part.

Ive eaten their flesh, placenta, and feet. It was only in my interest to assimilate and not offend locals in the Northern mountains of Thailand.

These photos were taken at Suphanburi Thai Water Buffalo Conservation Center. Although buffalo were fully native wild animals at one point, theyre fully domesticated now. The center has 100s of buffalo from various situations. Rescued, bought, bred. They're all well taken care of and are reminiscent of big dogs and the care takers treat them as such.

Old Canon AE-1 from my friend Buddy Walker.
Since I lost my other family heirloom camera, im shooting with this. Not sure if it works how it was intended, but I could not dare to say its broken, because these images are unedited, yet adequate to the human experience.

Straight from the source. Poaching time. Killing the moment. Plaques to be hung on the wall and maybe even "jump" timelines. Never thought Quantum Leap would be relevant again, but then again, phones now have pixels.

A camera given out of love. Shots taken out of compassion, resembling the psychedelic residual twinkle in my eye. Caught in states of ecstatic bliss, in a bleak, sobering realization that there is an opposite. All to try and break the bipolar delusion of black and white.

Thresholds
They speak to me. Theyre stacked with meaning and have always carried weight in maby cultures kn different continents. I think the idea of transformation and entering/exiting is most appealing. Once we cross a threshold, we are not who we were before we entered/exited.

A preperation/dissolution of self.
