No Cock N Bull Designs

No Cock N Bull Designs Ditch the cock n bull stories killing your visual brand to get seen heard and paid! I believe that good design is alive.

I'm a writer for Data-Driven Investor and An Idea on , I've been a featured presenter by Regus on positioning online locally. Design that is disconnected, inconsistent, or inaccurately reflects the service it's created for is dead. If you want to do what fuels your passion, your business’s visual identity needs to make the people who make that service relevant feel seen and heard. It sh

ould cut through the noise of those who aren't doing this.

Using eye-candy or shock value to escape positioning and differentiating your services because you believe ideal clients are a myth, and focusing is limiting is like witchcraft—something used to revive the dead.

It's hard to grow your business when you have no perspective…yes, but if what’s being said is coming through the wrong channel, the sound will still be uncertain; it won’t have the right emphasis, and you still won’t be able to grow your business because you won't attract the right people for the work you do.

So it’s not about "finding something to talk about.”

The notes being played reflect something specific to your intended client; the listener (if they have an ear to hear them) has to catch that.

What’s keeping those mythical creatures up at night?

You need to be aware of that for the sound of the trumpet to not just be heard, but be heard by the right people.

Using a lens is not the same as having one. The more I work with clients, the clearer this becomes to me.
You can consume other people’s ideas, but there should be a point where what you’ve consumed meets your own experience and thinking in order to develop your own point of view. It’s your lens that allows you to take something you've consumed and challenge it in a way that's distinctly your own. This is how two people can encounter the same thing and come away with completely different meanings, conclusions, and things to say.
Unfortunately, using AI tools has made doing this type of work archaic.
So naturally, consumption becomes the source of “thinking” instead of input for it. That inability to identify the problem being solved means there is nothing to develop a point of view around. And this is why we don't see real thought leadership from business owners in Trinidad and Tobago.
It's not what you can parrot, but what you discern that makes your thinking distinguishable.

🗣️

In a choir of small service businesses, it's difficult to be heard when you’re all singing the same song. And it's even harder to attract and convert your ideal client when you have not yet found your voice.

TheBrandTUB voices grab the right attention because they’re authentic and distinguishable. More importantly, they’re not uncertain, and this makes them unforgettable and bankable.

Meet Jill
…She’s awesome at what she does. But each day she roams the internet looking for ways to talk about her awesomeness because she doesn’t have a voice. To a trained ear, nothing she says truly sounds like her. If I were to guess, she has a knack for filtering thoughts and ideas through humanGPT, and aggregating them. But it doesn’t quite translate on the other side as someone with their own idea.
Her fans lap it up because she’s popular. Her hundreds, sometimes thousands, of likes and comments make her feel productive. But the question still begs: what are you trying to say about your pov?
From sharing information to listing what the business includes, she does her best to explain what she does and communicate the crossover, but she can’t seem to shake feeling like a service provider. People listen or read the information she shares but never act on anything specific.
Upon closer inspection, is your big idea just a revolving door of thoughts and ideas influenced by what someone in your industry is doing?

Most service providers make that mistake of overlooking what their ideal client values because they don’t know how to spot opportunity.
With only 1 customer under his belt, the owner of Cru Nonpareil also couldn't express any real vision for his branding project. I had to guide him to help him set the right foundation for what would become his business and his brand's voice. Today, his loyal followers and devoted clients dubbed him “Trinidad and Tobago’s first luxury brand.” A shoe that fits, if you ask me!
My point here is that where there is no vision, the objective gets watered down to what someone else is doing, playing someone else's game. Letting anyone in, and working with any ole body, and somehow calling it positioning and differentiation.
So if the goal isn’t to get attention without being known for anything specific, don't be a Jill…or a Jack.🥴

Long before Leonidas and his 300 Spartans became famous, there was Gideon. God sent him into battle with only 300 men and a promise of victory.
If you’ve successfully communicated your value before, don’t reinvent the wheel. With brand messaging, additions and omissions are strategic decisions. So saying things, for example, that you haven’t proven can water down your value. This is how you end up with filler: words or expressions that mean nothing to the people you’re focused on building a returning clientele with, making it harder for them to recognize themselves in the problem being solved.

So, if it’s not strengthening the most important thing you want the client to know about you, you’re better off cutting the excess because less IS more.

I know that’s a weird concept when you’re trying to pack everything on that flyer; you’re not alone. I contributed to some of that working as a designer in our local advertising industry. Billboards in Trinidad and Tobago are typically crammed with information. But a well-designed message can say a lot with very few words or none at all.

Don’t believe me?

The white horse rider is a picture of demon power. But I digress.

A good brand does not communicate less because it has less to say. It communicates less because it understands what matters most.

"A super race of something that looks human, who can speak things into existence"?!

The absurdity to assume, everyone on the face of the earth actually believes “AI just went rogue!” A thought is a word expressed, and there are stages and phases of development and evolution that go with it. Why?!

It is very obvious why. The influence behind AI and AGI is demonic. To fathom that the creation would try to give The Creator a better thought is not just absurd but indeed disturbing and scary...but there is nothing new under the sun.

It's the vicar of humans.

It is possible to spend years developing a skill and have nothing of value to offer because discovery takes time and building requires vision and patience. Conversely, building something from scratch and being unable to explain why you built it is a contradiction of true expertise.
Explanation is a byproduct of understanding, so if you’re having a hard time “explaining your great idea,” I’d question where you’re at in the building process. Maybe you haven’t identified what you’ve accomplished that there’s a specific demand for. Perhaps you don’t have the right projects that reinforce the problem you solve and support your credibility. Or maybe you haven’t transformed your experience into a product you can consistently talk about in your own voice and translated the outcome of that service into words that can be visualized.
All of this goes back to three questions: What do you do? Who do you do it for? And, what’s different about it? These are the main questions your clients want answered concerning value.
Not answering them is why you’re overlooked. Not because you can’t communicate but because you prioritize fitting in over the thinking needed in order to express your big idea. You haven’t identified and developed your thoughts and ideas, so when someone asks, “What do you do?” Ofc you’ll sound like the industry choir.
So don’t leave voice to chance. If you settle for something “close enough,” by throwing the thinking to ChatGPT, you'll sound out of touch like everyone else. And a poor sign is a symptom of a generic message that’s influenced by underdeveloped thinking or, as I say, decoy issues.

“WATER FOR AI—NOT FROM YOUR TAP”: GOVT SAYS DEBE DATA CENTRES WON’T AFFECT RESIDENTS’ SUPPLY

The Government says its multibillion-dollar plan to turn Debe into an artificial-intelligence hub will not take water away from homes and businesses.

Public Utilities Minister Barry Padarath says the proposed AI data centres within the Debe Special Economic Zone will initially rely on existing man-made ponds, with desalination plants expected to provide a more permanent supply.

His assurance comes as residents question how facilities requiring enormous amounts of electricity and water can operate in a country where many communities already face unreliable water schedules.

Two major projects are being explored: an initial 300-megawatt data centre associated with Ernst & Young and a separate 150-megawatt Hummingbird AI facility that could eventually expand to 500 megawatts.

Government says the wider investment package could attract more than US$5 billion and create over 5,000 jobs.

But the agreements are still at the framework and due-diligence stage. Final approvals have not yet been granted.

That means the public deserves more than promises.

How much water will these facilities require daily? Who will pay for the desalination infrastructure? Can the electricity grid support them? How many of the jobs will go to residents of Debe and surrounding communities? And what safeguards will protect nearby areas from flooding, environmental damage and increased pressure on public utilities?

AI data centres could place Trinidad and Tobago inside one of the world’s fastest-growing industries.

But development cannot mean communities waiting days for pipe-borne water while industrial facilities receive guaranteed supplies.

The opportunity is enormous—but so is the need for transparency.

Do you believe Government can build a major AI industry without affecting water and electricity services—or should the full utility plan be published before approval is granted?
