The average retail trading account lives about 100 days, first trade to last.

Across 500,000+ accounts analyzed, traders don't leave because they lose interest — they leave because they lose money faster than they learn from it.

What's actually shortening your account's lifespan?

TradeMedic doesn't grade the asset. It grades you.

It looks at what you're trading only to understand your behavior, not to tell you how the market is doing. The real report is about you as a trader.

One example it can surface: entering a new trade within 10 minutes of a loss. That's when performance quietly drops, plans get abandoned for gut feeling, and position size creeps up.

Chess masters do not have bigger memories. They see five familiar patterns where a beginner sees twenty separate pieces.

Trading is the same, which is why depth beats breadth: traders who stick to a single symbol are profitable 25.6% of the time against 15.8% for those who do not.

I almost didn’t publish this number. I was sure it was a bug.

AUDCAD came back as the most profitable pair in 500,000 accounts at 42%. So I tried to break it. Checked the sample size. Checked the time period. Pulled out the bots. Still 41%. Barely moved.

42% profitable. The most profitable pair in 500,000 trader accounts. And almost nobody trades it.

We checked every major pair, every index, gold, crypto. Most land between 11 and 20 percent profitable. AUDCAD sits at 42%, more than double the baseline. Only 2% of accounts trade it. Everyone’s on gold instead.

If you trade a prop challenge, the market you pick is a risk setting. Most people never think about it that way.

One breach of your daily loss limit and the challenge is over. NAS100 moves over 1% a day in fast lunges, brutal when a spike runs into your limit. AUDCAD moves about two thirds of a percent, range-bound and mean-reverting. It spent 93% of the last decade inside one tight band.

Most traders get hundreds of signals a day. The one they skip? Their own psychology.

In this clip from our conversation on Asia Tech Podcast with Michael Waitze, we break down how TradeMedic™ turns your live trading data into a daily review, not another signal to chase, but a mirror. It shows you where you're leaking profits and what you're already doing right, without adding more noise to an already complex game.

Here's the 60-second version of what 500,000+ accounts say about how much to risk per trade.

The traders doing best were sizing well below the "standard" 1–2% advice, often under 0.5%.

Do you actually know your real risk per trade, or just the number you meant to use?

20/08/2026

The single most common mistake in trading isn’t a bad entry. It’s not knowing when to stop.

Over 70% of traders keep trading after a big daily swing, win or loss, and trade worse afterward. Bigger risk per trade means bigger daily swings, and bigger swings are exactly what triggers this pattern.

Follow for a new pattern every week.

Your working memory holds about four things at once. Past that, your brain quietly switches from careful analysis to gut reaction, and it does not tell you it has done it.
That is why the fifth trade never feels like the mistake.
