🤖AI has quietly become part of almost every digital experience we have. Most of us interact with AI dozens of times a day without thinking much about it - recommendations, voice assistants, image editing, navigation, wearables, smart homes and so on.

What many people also don't think about is where that AI actually runs.

☁️ Right now, most AI experiences still depend on the cloud. Your device captures information, sends it to remote servers, receives the result, and then presents it back to you. For many use cases, this works extremely well.

But there are categories of products where even small delays start creating problems. 🚗 Take autonomous vehicles as an example. It makes decisions constantly, and sending every calculation somewhere else for processing creates dependencies that aren't always acceptable.

This is where on-device AI starts becoming important.

The idea of On-device AI is simple - instead of moving data to AI, move AI closer to the data.

And that changes a lot. First, speed. ⚡When AI runs locally, responses become almost instant. Voice assistants react faster, cameras enhance images in real time, and translation apps can work even without connection.

Second, privacy. 🔒 Your data doesn't need to leave the device every time AI is used.

Third, reliability. 📶 On-device AI continues working when connectivity doesn't. Navigation apps still guide users offline, smart home devices can keep responding, and wearables continue monitoring health information.

What makes On-device AI possible is a combination of better hardware and optimized software. Devices now include CPUs, GPUs, and dedicated AI accelerators designed specifically for ML workloads. Techniques like quantization, pruning, and model compression reduce resource requirements without heavily affecting performance.

Cloud AI isn't disappearing. But the direction is becoming clearer: AI is gradually moving closer to the user.

Where should you deploy your MVP? Vercel, Render, or AWS? It's a question many founders ask once the product is ready to launch.

The problem is that most comparisons focus on features and pricing. But these platforms aren't simply competing hosting providers. They're designed for different stages of a product's growth.

In our latest article at https://www.scrumlaunch.com/blog/vercel-render-aws-comparison-2026 , we explain when each platform makes sense, what tradeoffs you're making, and how to choose the option that fits your product today without making tomorrow's growth harder than it needs to be.

Vibe coding is having its moment.

Every week, there's a new story about someone launching a product without developers, building an MVP in a weekend, or creating a tool with nothing more than a series of prompts.

The technology is real. The productivity gains are real. But so is the growing list of projects that run into serious problems the moment they encounter real users, real data, and real complexity.

⚠️ Early 2026: a single Lovable-built app exposed 18,000+ users' data, including emails, payment details, and API keys, through 16 vulnerabilities, six critical. Missing row-level security. Broken auth. Marketed as "production-ready."

This is not an edge case. It is a pattern. AI-generated code inherits every insecure habit buried in its training data: hardcoded credentials, missing input validation, weak access control. It optimizes for "it runs," not "it's safe." But production software requires much more than code. It requires architecture, security, scalability, product thinking, and rigorous testing.

✅ So, where does vibe coding belong? Hackathons. Throwaway prototypes. Personal scripts. Early MVPs where speed matters more than scale, as long as you plan to revisit the foundations before real users show up.

❌ Where it doesn't belong: payments, sensitive data, compliance, and long-term maintainability. Andrej Karpathy, who coined the term, now points teams toward agentic engineering instead: AI with guardrails, testing, and human review built in.

For founders: use AI to move fast and explore. Then bring in engineers before you ship anything people depend on. Speed gets you a prototype. Discipline gets you a product that survives contact with real users.

Vibes don't scale. Standards do.

📖 Read our latest blog for more insights into vibe coding, real-world failures, hidden risks, and where AI-assisted development actually delivers the most value. Available at: https://www.scrumlaunch.com/blog/vibe-coding-risks-and-downsides.

Have you shipped anything with vibe coding yet?

Are you still choosing between serverless and containers for your app?

That decision is already outdated. Modern cloud architectures are rarely built around a single compute model. Some workloads need serverless simplicity, while others require container-level control.

In our latest blog, we break down where serverless actually shines, where containers make more sense, and how engineering teams build hybrid architectures that scale with their products. Check at: https://www.scrumlaunch.com/blog/serverless-vs-containers-2026

How much does it cost to build a home services app like TaskRabbit? If you’re a founder exploring this space, that's usually the first question right after whether the market is still worth entering in 2026.

A home services app looks simple: connect customers with service providers and take a commission. The reality is very different. Behind every booking sit a three-sided platform, verification workflows, provider payouts, scheduling logic, and operational systems that most founders don't budget for.

In our latest blog, we break down what it really costs to build a TaskRabbit-style marketplace, where the budget actually goes, and how to avoid expensive mistakes before development starts. 👉 https://www.scrumlaunch.com/blog/taskrabbit-like-app-development-cost .

#411 Product Manager/Product Owner

We're expanding our product team and looking for a Product Manager/Product Owner to lead the development of an AI Voice Agent platform. If you have 3+ years of experience managing B2B SaaS products and can write PRDs and acceptance criteria, define feature scope and priorities, maintain comprehensive product documentation, and coordinate multiple engineering teams, this could be your next opportunity.
