Adam

Adam asked me to create a brand new Landing Page for Hermosa Orchards Village.
I’ve created a minimalistic design in Figma and developed it on the Webflow - all processes took just 2.5 weeks time.
He was very glad about the final result.

Адам

Адам попросил меня создать новый Лендинг для Hermosa Orchards Village. Я создал минималистичный дизайн в Figma и разработал его в Webflow — весь процесс занял всего 2,5 недели. Он был очень рад конечному результату.

If you are using Figma for your daily designs and workflows, here, are some useful plugins that are life-savers.

1. Mockup
Probably one of the best mockups plugins - it has a free library of great pre-made and customizable layouts. My top choice.

2. Iconify
Have troubles with seeking icons for your projects? Iconify offers a huge and free database of icons that are easy to customize in accordance with your project.

3. Clean Document
Ever mess up with a number of layers, their position, uneven sizes? This plugin does real magic: automagically organize and clean up your Figma document.

4. Image Tracer
Extremely useful plugin when you working with icons, png, and jpg images - it helps instantly to capture the “skeleton” of the image and creates a vector. Later on, you can change colors, change shapes, resize without compromising the quality 😉

How do I start with design process for any project? The structure and approach in the design process are very important.
For me it consists of 5 following steps:

1. Brief with a client: asking questions about the project: the look and feel of the future website.
2. UX Research: deep understanding and UX research/analysis of client product/service. Includes competition analysis, and what they use.
3. Inspiration (brainstorming) or mood board: creating samples from exciting websites from the related niches, and keeping in mind those provided by clients (if any).
4. Wireframes/Prototyping. Based on inspiration - we build a low fidelity design (a skeleton) of the future website. Here it is good to have content from client, so to fill the wireframes with real content.
5. Actual design in Figma/Sketch/Adobe Xd: the final step - we implement an idea into life. With a combination of research and analysis of others niche-related websites - we create a unique web design.

# My first case

Here is my first ever case created in Figma and built on Webflow.
I have started with a simple and minimalistic style and layout for the corporate website for the teams' collaboration platform.

This is a concept created during the process of learning web design basics back in 2019. Meanwhile, this is one of the most appreciated cases at the begging of my career.

It includes a beautiful landing page, with Blog functionality and a simple CTA form to subscribe of new customers. I keep referring to this case nowadays.

Hey there, and welcome to my personal blog👋🏻

Here is a short intro about me, and how I've started with UI/UX design.

As you have noticed: my name is Vladimir, and I am based in Kyiv, Ukraine. I got my Marketing degree in Larnaca, Cyprus (2014). For the last 5 years, I've worked as a freelancer on various platforms and individually.

Back in 2015, I was a regular office worker, with an average salary of $350-400 per month. In 2016 - I discovered the freelance platform Fiverr, and this was a game changer in my life.

Curious to know more? Stick around for the next post 🙂

Is it easy to become freelancer?

A very good question, and there is no even answer. Here is my answer - everything is up to you! From my point of you - the main thing is persistence.

How to become freelancer fast? This is a different question. You can take a several important steps described below, to speedup the process (even if you have lack of skills and experience):

First of all the most important criteria is to complete your job in time and with high-quality. Obviously you should complete this job remotely.

Think carefully about what you can do remotely (data mining, copywriting, photo/video editing). Then, critically evaluate how you can help others people remotely. For the beginning I would suggest to select most on-demand niches: such as copywriting or design. Try yourself, and feel how it woks. There are plenty of copywriting jobs published daily or even hourly. Same applies to designs. Even if you are not strong at something like this you can always try smaller administrative jobs like pdf to text, typing or editing bunch of photos. Just start doing!

So, to sum up all the points - to become freelancer, you’ll need to take actions, do something. Attempting and keep trying, and you will get your first remote income. Also, for the fast start you should have at least 1-2 skills that are on demand.
