Do you have a Facebook business page for your business? If not, think of it as having a digital presence on the internet. It’s almost as important as a website, and some businesses use it instead of a website. This is not really a good idea because it means that only customers who have pages can learn about your business, and they also must be logged into Facebook to learn about your business. But since social media, especially Facebook, is getting more and more popular, it’s a good idea to have a business page presence on Facebook. This is not the same as a personal page. Need help? Have you looked at the featured photo on your Google Info Card lately? The card is displayed when someone types the name of your business into Google (not your URL). Google chooses what photo they want to use there and I have seen some doozies. On one business, when Google passed by and took a photo of the front of the building, a FedEx truck was parked in front, so guess what people see when they look at the info card – the FedEx truck! When something like this happens, it’s necessary to write to Google to get it changed. You cannot do it yourself, so tell Google which photo you want used or send them one. Once you have a Google business page set up, you need to verify it with Google. Why? Verified businesses are TWICE as likely to be considered reputable. It also protects you from anyone who might pose as a representative of your business. The most obvious reason, however, is that until your business is verified, you won’t be able to edit any business information on your page, such as address, photos, respond to reviews and more. Did you know there’s a way to make it really easy for your people to write a review on your business? In your email signature, a link can be automatically added that goes straight to your Google review page. All the person has to do is click on this link and write the review. Voila! If you use Outlook for your emails and prefer to have a customized “Google Box” designed and add that link to it, that can be done, as well. Need help? Have you ever checked the ratings and reviews of products, services of a business, or the business itself? If so, you know how important reviews are. Oftentimes, it’s the way a person selects what they want to spend their money on. If your company or product has a review rating of 3 stars or less, this can do an incredible amount of damage to your business or product. Nothing is perfect, but it doesn’t mean you can’t strive for perfection reflected by 5-star ratings. This would no doubt bring more profitability to your business.
