UNSCHEDULED OUTAGE: Campus Internet Access is Unavailable

The campus currently has no access to the internet due to a widespread outage at our Internet Service Provider, SEGRA.

Phone service is still available at this time.

ISSUES WITH CAMPUS PHONES:

We're experiencing an issue with some campus phones this morning. TSD is already looking into the issue. We will update as soon as we get additional information.

Cable TV service to the B&E building is currently unavailable.

The cable line from Breezeline servicing the B&E building was accidentally cut by contractors during the extensive renovations currently taking place in several areas of the B&E building. TSD has been in touch with Breezeline and we're working with them to schedule the repair. Due to the extent of renovations, however, it's possible the repair may have to wait until they are completed.

We will update you as soon as we have additional information.

ISSUES ACCESSING MICROSOFT OFFICE 365 WEB APPS:

We're part of a larger issue with some of Microsoft's 365 infrastructure this morning resulting in some or all of us being unable to access most of Office 365 from the web. So, if you usually sign into office.com to access Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, or other web-based Office apps, you may not currently be able to do that.

Microsoft is working on this as a larger issue affecting many of their customers and we're waiting to receive more information on the issue.

On Monday morning, USC Aiken representatives met with our partners from the SC National Guard for the grand opening of our Security Operation Center (SOC). The SOC will give our students the hands-on experience and education they need to help defend our country from cyber-attacks.

UNSCHEDULED OUTAGE: Internet access to Columbia down

We're seeing issues connecting to sites and services on the Columbia campus. Other internet access and services appear to still be functioning correctly.

TSD is working on the situation and notifying the Columbia campus and Segra (our internet service provider).

We'll update as we get more information.

UPDATE - UNSCHEDULED OUTAGE: Internet access is currently restored. It is possible access may again drop sporadically while further repairs are made. We will update again as soon as we have an official resolution from Serga.

UNSCHEDULED OUTAGE: Internet access unavailable for campus

Internet access for the entire campus is currently unavailable.

The campus lost access to the internet around 6am this morning due to an issue at our service provider, Segra. They are experiecing an outage and are currently working to resolve the issue. Unfortunately they do not have an estimated time yet for restoration of service.

This does not affect the phone network they remain online. Internal network access is also online. However all access to the internet is unavailable.
