🎨 Color Theory in the PNW🌲
When it comes to choosing exterior paint colors here in the Pacific Northwest, lighting and weather play a huge role. Lighter grays, greens, and blues often read cooler and more subdued outdoors, while warm neutrals or earthy tones like taupe, beige, or deep olive can add balance and warmth against the backdrop of evergreen trees and overcast days.
Another tip: consider your home’s surroundings and roof color. A dark roof pairs best with medium to lighter siding tones, while lighter roofs allow for deeper, more dramatic colors. And always test samples in different lighting—what looks great on a sunny afternoon can shift completely on a cloudy morning (which, let’s be honest, is most days around here).
