Wood Middle School has partnered with the Purdue University Department of Engineering’s famed EPICS (Engineering Projects In Community Service) program, which promotes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields being applied via service-learning across the curriculum. d an educator institute at Purdue, making Wood Middle School the FIRST middle school in the nation to participate in EPICS, traditionally geared only to high school and collegiate levels. Teen Techs is an after school program for Wood Middle School students that began on January 29, 2013, and that it is facilitated by a Wood teacher and two Wood parents, who are computer professionals.
