I used to feel completely alone learning how to code.

I remember asking myself if “this tech thing” was even for me.

Now, I’m surrounded by the people building the future from all around the world.

Five years ago, I was deep in the trenches of learning AWS and software engineering.

No mentors. No roadmap. No ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or AI tools (can you even imagine a world like that nowadays?)

Just me, a bunch of AWS docs, and hundreds of browser tabs 🥲

I questioned myself constantly:

Why am I learning this?
Who am I building this for?

It was a lonely journey… until everything changed.

☁️ Joining the Community Builders program opened the door to everything I was hoping for:
- Guidance
- Growth
- and most importantly: folks on a similar journey

At AWS re:Invent last month, that journey came full circle.

I met up with inspiring mentees and mentors of the program who are absolutely crushing it in the industry (big shoutout to my OG AWS All Builders Welcome mentees Nishanth Gotte and 🙌), and builders leading the next wave of cloud innovation.

It was a wonderful reminder that the future of tech isn’t built in isolation. It’s built together.

This program helped shape my cloud career.
And it will change yours too, if you take that first step.

🧠 What you get as an AWS Community Builder:
• $500 AWS credits for projects
• A free AWS certification voucher
• Discounted re:Invent ticket
• Exclusive trainings, events & early feature access
• Premium swag and dev resources
• A vibrant, global tech community

But the real win? An incredible network of friends, mentors, and colleagues.

People who will grow with you, support you, and build alongside you.

🚨 Today is the LAST DAY to apply for the
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Community Builders program!!

5 years ago, I was in the audience taking notes.

Today, I gave my first breakout session.

At AWS re:Invent today, I had the privilege of joining on stage to talk about something I’ve been obsessed about: AI agent security.

Back in 2020, I attended a session by Check Point Software () on API endpoint encryption. It was eye-opening and taught me a very important lesson:

👉 You can build with the best of intentions… but without intentional design, your tech can become your biggest vulnerability.

Fast forward to today:
I got to lead my first-ever breakout session going red team vs blue team on agentic AI system vulnerabilities.

We walked through:

🧠 Prompt injection and tool poisoning
🔁 Agent-to-agent escalation
👋 Supply chain corruption
🔐 “Secure-by-default” Zero Trust principles

No fluff.
No hype.
No marketing pitch.

Just real-world attack paths and how to stay ahead of them.

This talk was for the builders who know that “secure later” isn’t an option anymore. Because we all know, we can’t afford for it not to be.

To everyone who came out, thank you so much. Major thank you to , , and so many friends and colleagues for coming to support, you all are the best!! And thank you and for all the help and support leading up to today!

Feeling especially thankful today and every day for great people and great memories. I’m so grateful for the incredible friends and family in my life, and the folks I see once in a while and it’s like we’ve spoken every day since. Wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving holiday 🙏

I’m so excited to be part of this year’s AWS Road to re:Invent Hackathon 🚌💻🌵

Here’s the setup:
50 builders. 10 teams. 1 bus ride from LA to Vegas.

We’ll be coding live, under pressure, on a moving vehicle in the desert — all the way to re:Invent.

No second takes. No polished rehearsals. Just real-world building, in real time.

And I’m teaming up with some amazing builders on Team Yellow 💛
, , Nadtaken, and

We’ll be using:
⚙️ AI tools and LLMs
🧠 Kiro (the agentic IDE built for moments like this)
☁️ AWS services
⚡ All the caffeine we can find

This hits home for me because hackathons are how I got into tech in the first place.

They’re raw, fast-paced, and test what really matters:
Can you build something real that works when the clock’s ticking and the pressure’s on?

That’s what makes hackathons magical.
And this one?
It’s next-level.

Catch us live on the AWS Twitch Channel on Nov 30 at 11am PST
Or come cheer us on at the Midday Madness tent at Caesars Forum!

Let’s build. Let’s ship. Let’s ride. 🙌

👇 Wish us luck in the comments!

It’s how you spend your 24 hours.

It’s the work no one sees…
…that builds the person they see for 1 of those hours.

Most people only ever witness the highlight reel.
Because they only show the best of the best.

The one photo, the one meeting, the one success story.

But they never see the 5AM wakeups, early morning workouts, the late-night build sessions, or the moments you almost gave up but didn’t.

They don’t see the mistakes.
They don’t see the sacrifices.
They don’t feel the self-doubt.

They don’t track the hours spent learning, building, failing, and trying again.

And that’s okay.
Because your growth isn’t for show.
It’s for you.

Some principles I’ve been subscribing to as I’ve been building my business :
📌 Keep showing up.
📌 Keep putting in the reps.
📌 Exceptional results require exceptional work.
📌 Let the results speak louder than your words.

You’re not just building projects.
You’re not just building a business.
You’re not just working on one more thing.
You’re building a better, smarter, and stronger you.

🔒 Let’s lock in!

🚨 “Vibe coded” apps are blowing up…

But is your stack actually ready for 1M users? 👀...

Vibe coding gets you to MVP.
But production is an entirely different game.
Especially when security, scale, and real users hit.

At re:Inforce, I broke down my exact playbook for turning a GenAI MVP into a hardened, production-ready platform. We walked through the full journey — from “cool prototype” to Talk With Docs, an app with global delivery, strict Zero Trust enforcement, and infra built to scale.

We hit 3 real-world Tech Stack Playbook () codebases and showed how to make your app deployment pipeline:

✅ Deterministic
✅ Scalable
✅ Secure
✅ Testable
✅ Repeatable

Here’s what powered it:

🧠 Chat with your docs via RAG + Amazon Bedrock
⚙️ Next.js + FastAPI on Amazon EKS
🛠️ Python CDK for IaC + auto CI/CD
🔐 Cognito + IAM + GuardDuty for security
🦠 Malware scanning at upload
🌐 CloudFront + WAF for global protection
🛡️ Denial-of-Wallet and DDoS prevention baked in
🚀 AI-powered code scans/reviews via Amazon Q

This isn’t just vibes.
This is a playbook for production.

MAJOR thank you to everyone who came to my talk and for all the support leading up to this talk. I so appreciate you all!!

Vibe coding *just works*… until it doesn’t ⚠️⛔️🚫

Unauthenticated access. DDoS attacks. Bills skyrocket. Systems go down. And to top it all off? Your GenAI assistant is “Out of Tokens,” support’s offline, and the app’s melting.

“Vibe coding” won’t save you when the stakes get real.

Join me at AWS re:Inforce next week, as I’ll be walking through 3 real codebases to show how I turned a GenAI MVP into Talk with Docs — a fully production-grade, security-hardened app built to scale to millions with Kubernetes, Python, TypeScript, and AWS.

You’ll see:

🧠 An AI app that lets you chat with your files
⚙️ Next.js frontend on EKS
⚡ FastAPI AI server on EKS
🛠️ CDK in Python for full infra-as-code
🌐 CloudFront + ELB for global scale
🔐 Auth + protective layers that actually scale
🚀 Auto CI/CD + Amazon Q code reviews
🔍 Malware scanning on every file upload
…and more.

If you’re building GenAI apps that are meant to scale, this is the talk that might just save your app (and your business)

Early 2000s lore is (still) undefeated.

I remember playing “Dance, Dance” by on Madden 2006 on repeat growing up. When I didn’t have an iPod, video game soundtracks were my music player. Dance, Dance has been one of my go to songs ever since. When I finally got an iPod, it was one of my very first Apple iTunes song purchases. Hearing FOB live was a childhood dream realized.

And I can finally confirm after all of these years, that the Sk8er Boi (kids bop edition) pales in comparison to the live Sk8er Boy version.
