We want to provide an update regarding the service interruption in Blackshear yesterday afternoon.

The outage was caused by two separate fiber cuts from contractor crews not affiliated with ATC. Unfortunately, incidents like this can happen when proper utility locating procedures are not followed.

This is a great reminder to always contact Georgia 811 before starting any digging project by simply dialing 811. This free service will locate underground utility lines, helping prevent damage to critical infrastructure like fiber that keeps our community connected.

Our team worked through the night—until 5:00 AM—to make repairs and restore service as quickly and safely as possible.

We truly appreciate your patience and support while we worked to get everyone back online. 💙

5 am update: Our team worked through the night to repair two fiber cuts. All services are now restored.

9 pm update: The first fiber cut is nearly fully restored. Crews have now identified a second fiber cut impacting the 100 GIG internet transport to Blackshear and are working to address it.

7:50 pm update: The fiber transport issue to Blackshear has gone down again. Networking is working to get the transport back up and running.

The fiber cut between Blackshear and Patterson is currently being spliced back together. Our guys are working hard to get everyone back online.

6:15 pm update: The fiber transport issue to Blackshear has been repaired, and service is now back online.

There is still an active fiber cut between Blackshear and Patterson that is significant in nature. This issue is currently being worked on by engineering and fiber splicing teams.

We’re currently experiencing an outage in the Blackshear area. Our team is actively working to identify the cause and restore service as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience and will provide updates to this post as we have more information.
