Many people ask me about email security.

"How do I know if an email is legit?"

Well, one way is to hover over links (do not click) and the link should appear. As you can see, this message that looked like it came from PayPal is actually trying to redirect me to "hackel-edv.de". As we can see, this is NOT PayPal. (.de is the top level domain for Germany.)

If your bank, credit card, or even PayPal send you a message it is a good idea NOT to follow the links. Type the address into your browser to make sure you are visiting the site, and not redirected somewhere else.

Hello my Facebook friends, and welcome to The Trusted Nerd page!

I have jumped in head first into owning my own business. Partly because I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but mostly because Pines Technology decided to close its doors. Interestingly enough, I've been praying about this and I asked God to make my path VERY clear. Well, being let go a day after praying that prayer was VERY clear.

So here I am. A computer nerd, a Trusted Nerd, looking for some work. If you have a virus, failed hardware, need data recovery, or need a website then The Trusted Nerd can help. You can also visit my website at http://www.TheTrustedNerd.com/.

Thanks for visiting!
